Years into transforming the workplace, Slack continues to be as essential to teams as ever. Chatting with your colleagues in dedicated channels is at the core of this productivity powerhouse, but don’t snooze on its direct messaging tools, app integrations, and world-famous emoji support. If you need to gather the team for that one final push, you’ll want to do it in Slack.

  • Great for group communication and themed threads

    Devotionally devoted

I love that you can have threads about themes and those who need to be in the conversation can join. Let’s say you’re in an organization and part of the anniversary committee. You can create a channel just for those in the committee so everyone else doesn’t get alerts. I know many already know this but many don’t and choose other apps because they are not aware of this feature.

  • Good for team coordination

Works great for keeping everyone on the same page. You can create different “channels“ for different topics. Each person can pick which channels to join so they only receive messages from the groups that are relevant. The “huddle” feature is also super helpful. It allows you do video calls with other team members and share your screen, much like zoom.

  • Great for Organized Communication

Slack is a really solid app with great quality. I love how you can manage multiple threads and DMs at the same time. One of the best features is that when you reply to a message, it stays within that specific thread instead of pinging the whole group—super convenient, and you don’t get spammed with unnecessary notifications. The only minor downside is just getting familiar with the system at first, but honestly, it’s not that hard to pick up. Overall, definitely a useful tool for communication.

  • Streamlines Work and Keeps Teams Connected

Slack has become the heartbeat of our daily communication. It keeps projects moving, cuts down on endless email threads, and integrates beautifully with tools like Google Drive and Asana. I especially love how easy it is to organize conversations with channels and search past messages in seconds. Notifications are smart (not overwhelming), and the mobile app feels just as smooth as desktop. It’s one of those rare tools that makes teamwork actually feel lighter.

  • Slack is the better chat room app bar none

My family was introduced to Slack by my daughter many many years ago when we were looking to make a chat much easier then what we were using. Immediately it was embraced by each family member, I think because it is perfect for us to share everything that happened that day. You can share photos and videos freely too. I find it very easy to use on a daily basis at all levels.

  • Not your typical business tool….

I really enjoy Slack because it strikes the right balance between being professional and approachable. It’s simple and intuitive to use, which makes team communication feel more natural instead of forced. I like how conversations stay organized, files and links are easy to share, and the integrations with other tools make it a true hub for collaboration. It keeps work moving without feeling like a rigid corporate platform.
