About the game:

WARNING: This is an intense, realistic game, and may be too
disturbing for some players.

Slice is a sinister puzzle game for the iPad. The goal of the game is to clear layers of very sharp blades to push the open button. Push all the buttons in order and you win. While trying to open the puzzle you must not touch the sharp edges of the blades or you will get SLICED. When this happens, blood spills from your finger(s) onto the glass and the puzzle will reset. The blades only move in specific patterns that you must intuit by touch. Often you will have to use multiple fingers to hold blades open while you manipulate other blades with other fingers. This game is really about trying to figure out the hidden behaviors of the blades and moving the blades out of the way, carefully.

It's Twister meets pickup sticks meets Friday the 13th.

Perhaps the best $3 I've ever spent

I was searching about for a good multiplayer game for the iPad and came across this. And, wow, did it deliver!

Slice is a real-time collaborative game that responds to more simultaneous fingers on screen that anything I've seen. Three of us went at the game for more than an hour, taking turns, cooperating, offering advice, razzing each other. And getting cut like crazy! (You'll understand when you play the game.)

Slice is addictive, it's exciting, it's hateful, it's hilarious. We were glued to the screen for 72 minutes, all the while engaged in collaborative conversation. And then the 60 levels ended. Making it an absolutely perfect end to a fun evening. And a superb value as well.

There are lots of knives and copious blood. But it's all in the spirit of good, clean, bloody fun. And the blood serves a function: It shows you who screwed up!

On a technical note: This is the most impressive touch-screen game I've seen. At one point, I think I counted 12 fingers down. And the game demands some extremely articulated movements to boot. A real bar-raiser.

A problem...

It doesn't go further than level 60 in my ipad2.
Please fix it...

Wonderful idea, mediocre implementation

Getting kicked back a level every time you make a mistake early on serves no other purpose than to hide the fact that this is a VERY short game that can be very frustrating. As others have mentioned, at some point during the development process the price tag and the number of levels met each other going in opposite directions.

I love the concept and use of touchscreen technology but the implementation is actually quite buggy - you'll frequently find yourself getting cut when you clearly weren't even close to the indicated/cut area. An update with some bug fixes could do wonders here, until then it's only three stars from me.
