The app on the TV is very slow. It moves very slow when you’re trying to select channels it never ever speeds up. It’s always running slow and glitchy, sometimes closing automatically without the channel being opened. The phone app constantly reverts back 1520 minutes to where you were previously at. It never starts where the show would be in the live timeframe. It constantly goes back 15 or 20 minutes every time you shut the app off or when it turns off. Other than that, it seems OK.
I am so tired of so many different streaming subscriptions that don’t carry any local or cable channels and I don’t to pay for so much that I never watch. Sling made a perfect option for watching particular sports on ESPN by offering a day pass for $5! It is perfect for my time and budget!! I wish all of the “streamers” would learn from this model! It’s brilliant! Kudos!!
Overall, liking the Sling app as an alternative to Directv so far! However, what’s up with the spin and win promotion that you keep promoting!? There’s no way to sign up for it and your Customer Service bot can’t help as it doesn’t seem to know anything about it.
I love the variety of channels, the tease of winning something from rewards and haven’t had any problems till recently. The past couple of weeks there’s been a freezing up during commercials problem which requires me to close the app and restart it. App always freezes up when there’s less than a minute left of the required commercials to watch. When I restart app to continue watching my show, I have to watch all the commercials again. So for a 43 minute show, due to all the freezing up and restarting, I’m having to watch on average at least 30 mins of commercials per episode. I appreciate the fair cost of $60/month for my Sling subscriptions so please fix this freezing up problem so I can give y’all a 5 star rating.
For weeks I’ve been trying to connect to my airtv anywhere through the Slingtv app. In the sling app on my iOS phone where it asks you to connect to your WiFi the option to do so is not there usually it shows the WiFi you are currently on but it’s just a blank white box field. You can’t type into it or pull down menu from it. You can’t select the WiFi. This all started with a Slingtv app update months ago. I just wanted someone to know. Waiting for an app update to fix it. Otherwise your services are fantastic.
No one watches live TV in my house on the weekdays. But we do on the weekends sometimes. Sling is the ONLY live tv streaming service with the flexibility needed to earn my business. I can’t afford to pay $75 for internet and then $60+ for live tv streaming every month. But I CAN afford to pay for internet and a couple $5 day or $12 weekend passes every month. Big props to Sling for finally figuring out how to earn the business of poor people like us. They’re the only company that’s done so as of September 2025. Other live tv streaming services should take note.
