Simply aim your iPhone/iPad to any object in your surroundings, and Smart Measure displays the distance towards that object on top of the camera image. With its amazing 3D camera overlay grid, using Smart Measure is very intuitive and easy!
Find out how far it is towards that boat at the other side of the lake. Measure how tall buildings are. Use the app as a hunting or range-finder. Measure your friend's height. The possibilities are endless!

Ratings and Reviews
Seems to work OK. Uses vanishing line technique but fails when the above the center of the screen. Example: My TV is 15 feet from me and four feet up on the wall. The program vanishing point grid won’t reach the bottom of the screen and says it it over 300 feet away. I think I’ll read the instructions again.
Where are the instructions?
I have a degree in physics and advanced mathematics, and I don’t know what I am supposed to do to use the app. It tells me my office wall is over 30 feet away, I see a frame around the person in the example, but all I ever see on my phone is a grid that shrinks in the distance like a Star Wars introduction. There is a slider on the left, I have no clue as to what that is supposed to do or what it is telling me. Could we please have some instructions? The sample video shows somebody aiming the camera at a tree, but no instructions on how to read what I am looking at.
Looks like it will work, just downloaded it, calibrated it, and tested it in my house on some known distances and it seemed to work. I’ll rate it again after I’ve had a chance to really use it.
