When you upgrade to become a premium user, our experts will personally identify your plants and pests and answer any of your plant questions. Our horticulture experts are dedicated to helping people with plants thrive. Premium subscription will be renewed if the auto-renewal is not turned off which is why you should follow a few steps. Go to the app settings and turn off the auto-renewal 24 hours before the renewal or else you will be charged unnecessarily.

Wanted to like..

Wanted to like but just can’t. Initially seemed intuitive (adding plants) however information on plants & care is extremely limited/vague, seems like they encourage you to send messages to their experts instead of posting information about plants so people can read. Watering schedule seems to have only one setting for one plant (once a week?)if there is more to it - it’s kinda hard to figure out. Also there IS option to sign up for month to month subscription however it’s not apparent when subscription is offered. A lot of good reviews.. why? I feel like I’m missing something. I signed up for premium service but interface/nothing changed, not sure what I payed for. A bit disappointed.

Good day AngelKet, sure sorry about the challenges here. We are working hard to have the functions within the app as simple as possible, but there is a lot going on with the technology. We are continuing to upgrade with great feedback like this to make sure it becomes more intuitive. The care is set up so that it regionalizes what and when to do in your zip code and automatically notify you what needs to be done in that month. This all is free for all your plants/Trees indoor and out. The Subscription is for when our users want to have a local expert work with them 24/7 365 days a year on problems, identifying plants, etc. All our experts have over 30 years in the industry and are focused within the region of the subscriber. Terrible App

I used the ask the expert feature to identify a known plant (Ctenanthe setosa “Compact Star”) with a good clear photo and after several weeks received a reply of “prayer plant”. While this is technically accurate, it is not what I expected from a so-called expert since there are literally hundreds of plants that could be called a prayer plant. This app is definitely a work in progress, as after re-downloading it I see that they’ve corrected the scientific name of the Easter cactus. However, their Christmas Cactus page still shows a photo of a Thanksgiving Cactus.
The inaccuracy of this app, combined with their petty response to my feedback: (“Thank you for the compliment. Our users know your claims are false and see right through you trying to promote your own app!”) caused me to delete this app again. I still prefer Planta since I don’t have the time or interest to waste with these developers. And I have no interest inPlanta, except being able to trust the information in the app!!

I was excited and added my 20 different backyard plants and trees to the app. Using the free version, the information on each of the plants is minimal and random. I was able to upload my own pictures of the plants and that’s my favorite art of the app unfortunately.

The “My Care” section allows you to schedule what I suppose would be various tasks into a calendar and receive alerts on specific days. All that I’m able to schedule for my 20 plants is a watering schedule. We are on a drip system so we don’t need a watering schedule. We need a flowering schedule, pruning schedule, fertilizing schedule, etc. None of that is available, so the app is almost useless.

Another must have feature that is not available is adding notes to my individual plants. There is no spot to add my own comments other than hand-writing notes and then taking a picture of it. Lame

We appreciate the feedback. The free verson does all that you were looking today. The plants loaded are read by the system and applies the care to each individual plants and trees. It will automatically show this within each season. It doesnt list them unless there is something to be done. If there is pruning, fertelizing..etc...it wiil not only notify you via an alert but will attach product reccomendations and where you can get them. we hope this helps clearify the free verson. The add notes feature is being added to the next update of the app. Finally if you do choose to subscribe this gives you 24/7 365 conatct with your local expert to assit you with any plant or tree issues or identifcations.
