My kid is on the spectrum and school has always been really hard on him. After one of the interactive stories (about being brave and trying again) he actually told me he felt ready to go back to school. That was HUGE for us. Smart Tales somehow speaks to him in a way that makes sense. It’s not just an app, it’s been a tool for his confidence. I’m so grateful.

Sad to say that this app is making a ton of money with over “200,000” subscriptions yet they can’t refund me the yearly subscription automatically selected when you download the game, something you might not even notice if you’re not paying attention, so BEWARE. I told them that my 11 year old downloaded the game for my 2 year old with out my consent. After just a few days that she downloaded this app I noticed a $97 charge on my account with out my knowledge I desperately tried pleading with apple multiple times, and they said the app company rejected my request, even wrote the app company and after more than a week never heard anything. Sigh, I am really having a hard time financially at the moment and they refuse to refund me cuz they’re a greedy company.. had I downloaded this game my self I would have chosen a cheaper option not a yearly… who has a non refundable policy on a virtual game, that’s just money hungry.
Hi, thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately payment and refunds are managed directly by Apple and the decision is entirely up to them, there is nothing we can do about it. In addition we do not have subscription at $97 so I'm not sure if the charge is from Smart Tales or another app. Again, really sorry about it, I wish there was more we could do.
I got it and paid the year subscription because that was cheaper over long run and because reviews so good raving reviews. Terribly dissapointed. Not even getting a response from the company. I got it for my 9 year old son who is just a little behind in school. I purchased it so I wouldn’t forget which one it was and then finally got around to testing it 2-3 weeks later. I tried it for about 15 minutes and then got to a new section and a female character without proper clothing showed up. I understand going to the beach or pool, which my son has never been to a beach, but I refuse to expose my son to improper attire with an app on my phone, that’s ridiculous!!Well, needless to say, we won’t be using the app. Waste of money and the company won’t respond. Unable to get a refund through Apple. Really disappointed.

Update: The app refers you apple for your refund. Apple WILL NOT issue a refund! I’m now out $99. Looks like a BBB report being filed. They have no problem taken you money but can’t give it back.I have tried multiple ways to reach out to the creators of this app and through the smart tales website. None of the emails listed are working emails. There’s no contact information and no way to get help. I had a child install this app and I didn’t know. I am now trying to be charged $99 for this app. I have canceled the subscription and deleted the app and it’s still trying to charge me $99. Someone help me and get this charged removed! I can’t afford it and WILL NOT pay it.Edited: was charged for this app and CAN NOT get a refund!

I am waiting to hear from someone regarding a refund. This was an accidental purchase and I canceled right away as well as deleted the app right away. My kid downloaded the app, and I know I need to enhance the securities, but I think it’s fair to refund someone who has not been using the app and has no intentions to use it at all. I am in no way taking anything from the app and how well it teaches children, but I really can’t afford to put that amount out at this moment and I think people should be afforded the chance at a refund. Anyhow, I received one correspondence from the developer but have been left hanging since then and Apple says the developer needs to put in the refund request for me.
I did the trial and the free trial was for the yearly trial. I have proof that it was $0.00 for the 14-21st and canceled the trial on the 21st. I downloaded it on my 2 year olds iPad (family share) and on the 21st I got charged on both my account and my sons for a total of almost $200 for a child’s apps. I contacted apple and told them I got charged twice even though it has family sharing. Apple rejected the refund and when I disputed the charge they rejected it again. Ugh! So they are making me pay almost $200 for an app for my son and had to pay it twice even though I canceled it on the 21st and was charged twice. This is unacceptable Apple and developer. Don’t buy this app!

Parents, please check content and make sure your kids are being taught properly. Remember young minds will absorb things easily, especially in repetition. The idea of this app is really great but it is filled with many errors. So beware.On our first time exploring the app together, kiddo and I found the interactive reading stories have spelling errors. We then went to explore the Geometry section, which has an interactive game for kids to tap the shapes. One asked “Which shape has SIX sides”Kiddo kept tapping a hexagon but the app kept buzzing it as an error. An octagon flew by so I tapped it just for a tat, and it said that was correct.There are more errors throughout as well.Overall, I think with some serious editing this can be a fantastic enrichment for kiddos, provided there are correct contents being taught. Sadly, we will not continue using the app.

I was charged for a year subscription ($98!!!) with no notification and can’t get a response or refund. My mom subscribed and was trying to share the link with me so my son could use it, I was asked to start a free trial but it said I would be notified when the trial ended. Also that there was a monthly subscription option. Just a few days later I was charged almost $100 through apple. I requested a refund and they denied it. I am a low income single mother and cannot afford this, I am struggling financially… it’s really a bummer. I feel taken advantage of. Don’t sign up for the free trial!
Hello we are truly sorry Apple denied your refund request. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do as they are in charge of payments aswell as sending the reminder mail.
I stand by what I have said in the past. This is an awesome app. The problem I’m having now is since I use it to work on skills because I came from an institutional environment. I went to try and work on it on my iPad and when I try to login through Apple, it’s saying server error try again. It does not do this on my iPhone 11. Please fix. Issue was only on the iPad.

I just downloaded the app and subscribed. I personalized the account for one of my children. When I added profiles for my other children, there was no place for me to personalize those profiles. My children are very different and have different learning needs. There’s nothing on the website to reach customer service. When I tapped the Contact Us option in the app, the link did not work.
