FEATURES:
- Find by file name, folder name or file content;
- Suggestion and Instant Search: while typing the word to search for, the completion of the word entered and first relevant files are showed;
- Metadata: the search results show all the most significant metadata of the document (title, authors, publisher, keywords, ..);
- Highlight: the search results show a preview of text matched;
- Links in the search results: for each file found there are links to automatically open the found file, open the folder it belongs to and filter the results for some meta-data or attributes;
- Refine your search: you can refine your search with the metadata of the document (author, publisher, keyword, ...) or through the category (video, audio, ebook, ...) or select only a folder;
- Sort the results: you can sort the results by relevance, size, last update date, file name;
- Search with special characters: you can use special characters to find sets of words or to exclude words;
- Duplicate files: Instantly detect if there are duplicate files (same content). All duplicate files related to the found document are presented in the search results;
- SmartFinder wherever you want! You can also use SmartFinder from your browser and share the use remotely even with all the devices on your network: read your Desktop files from your mobile phone!
- Search on external disk and on virtual folders: you can search on all the folders you share on your disk such as Dropbox, OneDrive or ICloud!;
- Analytics: for each search, statistics of the files found related to the meta data are presented (e.g. which authors were found, how many folders, ...);
- SmartFinder uses proprietary index to make quick searches and return relevant results.

SmartFinder was born above all from one of our primary needs since, working in the field of "Research and development" and having thousands of digital documents (scientific articles, books, theses, ...), it is essential for our productivity to have a search engine tool of highly efficient documents in terms of time and quality of results.
Today we use SmartFinder to search for any type of files for business or private use!

You can search for files by configuring folders that contain up to a maximum of 200,000 files or 100 GB of size!
From version 1.8.0 only the files that have textual content (for example pdf, word, ppt, ...) are counted for size. Video, Audio, Images and any files that NOT contain text do NOT count towards the size threshold.
