The following things are improved in this version: - Under Tahoe, the functionality for playing back the last played playlist was a little too enthusiastic, causing issues with resuming playback. It turned out that it Apple Music under Tahoe was not always giving back the correct status. I disabled the functionality. - Adding tracks to playlists that are not in your library should be better now. Adding to a playlist, depends on the track being in the library. Because adding tracks to the library is not the smoothest operation (which is beyond my control), adding tracks to playlists sometimes failed. I added a retry mechanism.

Reworked a couple of things with respect to rating tracks that are not in your library. Actually, reworked the whole rating and favouriting of Apple Music tracks. Adding tracks to the library now works more consistent and is no longer depended on settings in Apple Music itself. I hope this takes away some frustration, At least it does for me ;-)

This release fixes a few bugs: - It was not possible to authenticate with Spotify anymore. This should work again, allowing you to rate tracks and playback playlists. Already authenticated users were not affected. - After setting the ListenBrainz token, SmashTunes would not immediately make use of it. It does now. Happy scrobbling! - I made some changes in remembering what playlist was last played. SmashTunes now can start playback of the last playlist that was playing, in cases where Apple Music has trouble deciding what to play. I'd love to hear some feedback on this. This will probably be the last release of this year, so have a good holiday period!

Fixed an issue with the initialization of ListenBrainz. Scrobbling to ListenBrainz should now again work like a charm. It looks like playing back playlists is working again on macOS Tahoe (version 26.1). I fixed a small issue in this area though, where the selected playlist would not get activated in the playlist menu.

This version makes it possible to Favourite Apple Music streaming tracks again under macOS Tahoe. This is the first step in making sure that everything works as expected again under macOS Tahoe. Another thing that was fixed for macOS Tahoe is displaying the artwork in both the widget and the floating window. Apart from all this unplanned work, I created a new app icon to match the new icon style of macOS Tahoe. The icon was not really visible, but nonetheless you may enjoy the new one ;-) I hope this release helps Tahoe users. Don't hesitate to reach out if you run into any issues!

macOS Tahoe has a problem with sharing Apple Music data when streaming music, that is not in your library. This version is a work-around to that problem. The track information is displayed again as it should. Displaying Spotify or Volumio tracks is not affected. Let me know if you're running on Tahoe and experiencing any other oddities.

Fixed a potential problem with building up the Music playlist menu in SmashTunes.

Solved a few small issues with respect to the Volumio integration.

This versions adds support for Volumio. SmashTunes not integrates with it. After entering your Volumio's URL in the settings, you can control it, via SmashTunes. Of course SmashTunes displays the currently playing track in the menu bar. Most SmashTunes features are supported, like skipping to the next track, changing shuffle and repeat settings, changing the volume (which I felt was needed for a Volumio integration ;-) ) Depending on demand, I may add other features like, favouriting tracks, or adding them to playlists, things that are already possible for Apple Music. Note, that I tested this in my setup only, and with my music service only (Qobuz). Let me know if you are missing things, or find that something is not working as expected.

In the light of the upcoming macOS version I fixed a bug for this new software. I'm not running Tahoe myself, so if you run into Tahoe specific issue, let me know. Fixed some other potential issues as well. Enjoy your music!

No new things in this version, just some stability improvements.

The release consists of some stability improvements and a few changes: - Spotify favourites are now displayed using a heart, just like Spotify does. - Added option to always start the playback of playlists in shuffle mode.

Fixed an issue where the artwork in the floating window would not get updated in for tracks without an album title. Also fixed some stability issues.

Fixed some problems with syncing Spotify playlists.

This bug fix releases fixes some problems with updating playlists to the menu, an issue with paying back Music artists and album, and an issue with loading the Spotify playlist preferences.

This versions brings full playlist support for Spotify: - You can start playback of playlists, from the menu, and  - you can the currently playing track to any playlist you've created, either from the menu or through a keyboard shortcut Before you can use this new functionality you will have to authorise Spotify again.

Adding Apple Music tracks to your music library, was possible from SmashTunes by either using the menu or keyboard shortcuts. It was also possible to add tracks directly to playlists this way. Since some more recent version of the Music app, this functionality has been broken. With this version this functionality is restored again, with a small caveat. In order for this to work, you have to check the Favorites checkbox of Music’s “Add songs to library when adding” setting. You can find more on this on SmashTunes’ support page. Next to adding tracks to the library, without having to favorite them, SmashTunes will now also add Apple Music tracks to library when you give them a rating. All of the above only applies to the Music app. For Spotify some preparations were made to also offer this kind of functionality in a future version of SmashTunes. Apart from this improved add to library functionality this version solves a few problems as well: * It is now possible to use Asian keyboard layouts when setting shortcuts * A potential problem was solved with unliking Spotify track * Syncing Spotify tracks that were already liked in Spotify did not always work correctly anymore after the internet connection had been lost.

Spotify changed their API for liking tracks, or adding tracks to the Liked Playlist, as they call it. This broke the Like track functionality in SmashTunes. This version fixes it.

Based on a bad review of customer that had complaints for over 2 years, without letting me know, I made a fix for how SmashTunes deals with Spaces and full-screen apps in particular. At least that is what I deduce from the review. This issue could probably have been fixed much quicker if I had only known... So please, let me know if you experience issues or have requests. Apart from this fix, I made a slight change in how skipping to the next track, after rating is done. Most of you will not know this, but some Music version have a feature build in that when hold down option when skipping a track, it will skip to the next album in stead of the next track. Not something most people want, so I changed the behaviour of SmashTunes when the option key is part of the shortcut to rate a track. It will wait a sec, so Music does not "see" the option key.

Fixed a potential problem with syncing Liked Spotify tracks.

In some rare cases, SmashTunes could crash on bad cover art images. This should hopefully be fixed now, because I did not have any bad examples... Also fixed a potential problem with syncing liked tracks from Spotify.

This version fixes a few bugs: - On macOS Monterey, the artwork would not position correctly between sessions - Skipping tracks when rating a track, did not work as expected

In the last version it was possible to like tracks played through Spotify, if you were part of very selected group of users. It should now be possible for everybody to like Spotify track. What's more: SmashTunes now also indicates if you liked a track, and (periodically) syncs the liked status of tracks you liked in different ways (for example on your phone). It is also possible to "unlike" a previously liked track. For some people it is essential to rate all (Apple Music) tracks they have in their library. I added an extra option to skip to the next track, after rating a track with any number of stars. It already was possible to skip to the next track when you dislike a track. Enjoy!
