Terrible app

This app is horrible. The UI is awful, completely unintuitive and extremely difficult to navigate. It requires a ridiculous number of steps to complete just to get it to do the simple task of opening/closing a blind. It took nearly two hours to program 14 blinds. Several days later, one of the 14 blinds stopped working with the remote and couldn’t be opened or closed except with the app. Several days after that, it stopped working with the scene I had created for the blinds in that room. The only way we could open/close that one blind was to go into the device on the app and tap the up/down button there. Now not even that works and the battery on the blind IS charged. I tried to delete both devices in that room to start over but the app won’t allow me to delete a device without first deleting scenes that use the device. But I can’t delete a scene without first deleting the schedules. But I can’t delete the schedules without getting an “oopsy something went wrong try again later” error. This app is just plain junk. And don’t even think about getting it to work with Alexa. That is not currently a functioning capability and neither Smith & Noble nor the Alexa folks have figured out what the problem is. If you don’t already have Smith & Noble blinds and want this functionality, look elsewhere. I already had the blinds so am stuck and extremely disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re so sorry! Yes, you do need to unschedule a scene before you can delete a shade from the scene. Our Alexa skill was unavailable for a short time but is now back in the Alexa skills store. Dumbest smart shades on the market

Both the hub and the app are total junk. Absolutely not compatible with Alexa. So called automatic opening and shutting is a disaster. Half the blinds don’t respond. UI is painful beyond belief. If you change your phone, you can’t take administrator role with you. I switched phones and now I have to take down all the blinds and pair all of them again. The sharing feature with other users is nonsense. The shared copies do not sync or talk, so if one person edits, you suddenly have two schedules. The blinds can be going up and down the whole day. Totally and utterly embarrassing for this company. But hey they keep on sending catalogs with misleading information. Don’t waste your money- look elsewhere.

UI controls missing

It appears they haven’t tested this app on enough devices yet, as many of the UI controls described in the documentation just don’t appear on screen - some of these are harmless, like the email prompt or start button missing their labels (but otherwise operable) but the lack of the big “plus” button to add/pair the device renders this app complete unusable. Tech support could only say “it’s very new”. To prospective buyers I would recommend waiting until this isn’t a 1.0 version and/or isn’t rated 1 star - or go with another manufacturer that can provide a working app.
