S'moresUp, helps families stay organized, stay informed and keep in touch with friends, and families.
My name is Priya, and I am the co-creator of S'moresUp.
I am a single mother of a teenage daughter. S’moresUp was created as a simple home management system to bring consistency in my family. It brought significant changes to our home and my friends started noticing the difference. I shared the same with my friends and family who were looking for ways to better manage their family. Two years after, we have more than 100K families using the app daily.
S'moresUp was created based on my experience and insecurities as a single mom trying to balance my family life and professional life. S'moresUp provides a set of tools that makes your family management better and smarter
Sometimes parenting is hard, but you don't have to tackle it alone. Give S'moresUp a try, and you would never want to go back to the old ways.
Priya - S'moresUp
The app creates a profile for everyone in the family. So say you have 3 kids and 2 adults in your S'moresUp family, you have 5 profiles created for each member of the family. The profile pages for kids are different from adults.
The app has four primary menu buttons:
1. Home - A place to stay connected
Everything that you need to know about what's happening in your family is right here. From home, you can stay in touch with your family members through messages and posts. Send them a lovely picture from your workplace or use it as a way to set some ground rules at home.
Home is also the place where you share things with your connected families and friends safely and securely.
As a parent, you can also engage with other parents in the S'moresUp Community. Be it parenting tips, upcoming events, news, doubts, clarifications, or research information; you have an open space to post them.
It is an easy way to manage kids’ chores and allowances.
* Setup the recurrence of the chore by selecting Daily, Weekly or Once as you create the chore and assign to your kids.
* Track all your assigned and unassigned chores in “Family Chores" section
* New to chores, "Discover Chores" can help you get started with some favorite chores.
* Automatic reminders sent to your kids for incomplete chores before its due.
* Simple calendar designed from scratch with families in mind.
* A view for every member of the family
* Easy import of events from other calendars
4. Easy Family Management
Chore Progress, Rewards, Awards, Saving Goals & playdate planner. All in one place for easy management
With all these multiple and advanced features incorporated in a single package, it is no surprise why S’moresUp is one of the best chores app in the market.

Not sure yet but we’re all trying
Got the whole fam on this but it is still a bit buggy. Like entering in chores and then they disappear or setting up the calendar for Sunday start and it shows Monday so now trying to put it back to Monday for default to see if then it’ll work better. Some improvements would be to be able to assign chores to a specific time and date maybe that’s possible in optional but it doesn’t always show. Also-I’d like to see the amount of s’mores earned on the dates earned in case both parents approved an optional chore or gave additional bonus for the same thing. Adding to the calendar in a span of several days for vacation, etc. would also be great! Our little is loving this app so we’re both trying but we see missing info that was once there a lot. It’s a bit frustrating to have to re-input things over and over again but we’re hoping these bugs and further improvements are worked out since this could be an amazing app. Thank you for creating it! Just hoping it improves sooner than later so that we don’t get all overly frustrated and just bail out. Haven’t gotten the little to try so many new foods til this app. Can’t wait for the reward system approval updates. Hopefully all info like what was earned, saving past chores so parents can add easier if they disappeared, etc. can be more visible to all including the child.
Developer Response ,
Thank JoyC_NY for taking the time to write to us.
We are working on fixing some of the issues that you reported (like chore's perceived disappearance) and adding features like Reward approval and daily reporting.
There has delay in development over the last few weeks due to complexity of the system and also medical emergencies and we are trying to get back on track.
Will it be possible for you to let us know what the issue is with setting the start of week to Sunday and it showing Monday? Are you observing this on a specific section of the app?
We are so glad that the little one is liking the app and gets to try new food. We promise we will make it better going forward.
Thanks, Reeves - Team S'moresUp
Mostly Very Good, But...
Overall, very good. And I think I may become a paying user, but there are some serious load-time issues and a couple bugs/oversights that seem like they should have been addressed out by now.
Bug: When l try to use the Advanced scheduling to set up a chore that has more than one week between completions, the interface will not allow me to enter a number of completions different from the number of days in the frequency block I'm trying to use.
For instance, if I am trying to enter a chore that needs to be completed X time(s) every X months, it will default to 31 times every X months. If I am trying to enter a chore that needs to be completed X time(s) every X weeks, it will default to 7 times every X weeks.
If I try to change it to 1 time every X weeks/months, it will not assign the chore until it reverts back to the auto-populated incorrect value.
Oversight: Though it's obvious that SmoresUp is trying to get users to use the app to manage their schedules, the fact is most of us who already use a cloud calendar use Google Calendar. It is so feature rich with countless integrations and a robust development cycle, that very few SmoresUp users would every consider leaving Google in favor of SmoresUp.
With that, it would be far more beneficial for SmoresUp to allow users to push the chore schedule to a Google Calendar than to pull the Google Calendar into SmoresUp.
Fix those two things and I will gladly pay for the service without hesitation.
This app is perfect for giving your children responsibilities and teaching them about taking care of their business which leads to rewards! They can earn money and it encourages them to create goals! It also helps them to learn time and money management. Oh and yes...points can be taken away too! So, if the job isn’t done correctly then you don’t get paid in real life and this also helps them learn this concept as well. This type of responsibility also helps children self manage and cultivate a sense of independence! And my two sons ages 9 & 11 absolutely love this app! We all have iPhones and it works great!!
Side note: The app can be a little glitchy like my one of my sons couldn’t log in after successfully using the app on the first day it was installed. So, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and it has been working fine ever since! Also when you are trying to add a reward like “dining out” if you create the reward and then decide to edit it the app will keep closing, but if you just delete the reward and recreate it it will work. The boys have the iPhone 8’s and us parents have the 11 pro max if that helps any.

Thanks for taking the time to write to us and thank for the awesome review.
Regarding the issues reported, we have seen it happen to couple of our users. We have not been able to identify what is causing this issue. Now that the advances chore scheduling has been released, we will get some time to look into this issues. Thank you for your patience.
Have a great week.
