Love it!!!

I love this app! I am so much more easily able to get back to the key takeaways and clips from podcasts I need to listen to again. And I can share clips with my friends and family that maybe need to hear a particular insight from a podcast (but not the whole thing) too! Game changer! A few podcasts use dynamic ads and it messes up the snipping but I’ve really only found one I listen to regularly that does that - On Purpose with Jay Shetty. And a few have not been run for AI so you have to use the allotted number of minutes per month they give you to run AI on an episode you want to snip. But again, only one podcast I’ve encountered that I listen to regularly on that issue - The Trent Shelton Podcast. Snip’d! - run AI on all the Trent Shelton’s podcast episodes, please! It’s fire! Ok enough about that, but seriously if you listen to podcasts literally every day while doing other things like I do, you will love this app. Thanks, snip’d!

Totally garbage and deceive the users

Last year, I was disappointed about this broken thing because it only allowed users to migrate into it but not export data. I sent an email to request to delete the account. As a result, the product team replied that there was no such function; the person in charge of operating account deletion went on vacation and you have to wait for half a month! After waiting for half a month, someone finally replied that your account had been successfully deleted. But after at least one year, in order to research on the new features of this product, I downloaded it back. I didn't make any operation, but I was logged in to the old account that should have been deleted more than a year ago! The playback record and subscription list are just there in my eyes. You never give the users the right to delete the account and you lie to you user? WHY?
Back to the AI feature and the community curated snips: they are nearly unusable. Every single podcast is not processed so you have to use your paid hours to process, which is TWICE the price as whisper AI if you know how to invoke it from API. The taste of so called groups are just so philistine that you won’t want to listen to their snips if you value your time and brain so much that you use AI to process more knowledge. Don’t waste your time here because I have wasted mine to test. Twice.

Developer Response ,

Hi Sponge, I am very very sorry for this mistake! This was never our intention and must have been an oversight by the team member working on your case. In no way do we want to deceive users in any kind of way.
Back in 2022 we were still very early and had not yet implemented all core features. In the meantime, you can delete your account very easily inside the app's settings (Click on your email / username, then "Delete account"). You can also export your subscriptions in OPML format, if you decide to move to a different podcast app.
However, those feature improvements aside, I am deeply sorry that this happened. I hope you understand that mistakes can happen, especially in the early days, and that in no way it was our intention to deceive you.
If you reach out to me via email (kevin _at_ snipd.com), I will personally make sure that your account has been properly deleted and I will investigate how this mistake happened in the first place.

Perfect if you want to learn from Podcasts

Some of the podcasts I listen to for entertainment. The Apple app is fine for that. Most podcasts I listen to so I can learn. Snipd is the podcast app for learning and taking action - it’s amazing.
You can read the AI descriptions before you listen and see if you’ll learn anything new. You can forward your snips to your to do app for follow-up and so you can find important learnings later. Have a pile of podcasts you don’t have time to listen to? Quickly read through the summaries and archive the low value ones.
The new Apple Watch app allows you to leave your phone at home and concentrate on listening.
They keep adding great new productivity features and it’s been almost bug free - highly recommended if you want to make productive use of your listening time!
