SOAR - established in 1982 - has opened up the world to 10,000 fearful fliers. SOAR was developed by the leading authority on flight phobia, author, airline captain and licensed therapist Tom Bunn, M.S.W., L.C.S.W. The SOAR program is available online and in the SOAR Conquers Fear of Flying app : https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/soar-conquers-fear-of-flying/id679631730?mt=8
This additional app, SOAR VR, brings virtual reality technology to the SOAR program. When used in conjunction with the SOAR program, SOAR VR controls fear, panic and claustrophobia automatically when flying by establishing psychologically active links between flying and factors that block the release of stress hormones and activate the calming parasympathetic nervous system. The SOAR VR was developed by psychologist and pilot Alex Gervash and Viktorina Lintsova.
Includes 3-D videos of the flight experience:
• Exterior inspection of the airliner by crew
• Boarding the flight
We corrected the description of the application and fixed several errors. Stay tuned!
Ratings and Reviews
Great ideas but not enough turbulence
I am a big fan of the SOAR program and was excited when the VR app became available. I bought the turbulence video right away and tried it out with my VR glasses. I was surprised that this video contained very mild turbulence. I could barely tell it was there. The seat belt sign wasn’t even on! I think a new video with moderate turbulence would be better to practice with.
Turbulence part disappointing
I agree with the first review. The SOAR program is great but the turbulence segment in this app is way too mild. That's not what triggers my anxiety. It needs to be much more intense.
