This app teaches children and adolescents empathy and how to take the perspective of others. The app allows users to match the appropriate thoughts, feelings, and verbal dialog to the individuals shown in various social scenarios in an elementary school, middle/high school & in the community. Multiple users from 7 years of age through teens can relate to these familiar settings and their progress may be saved and used for data collection.

Over 100 images and corresponding thought bubbles and speech balloons are presented for users to practice their perspective taking skills. Users click and drag thought bubbles or speech balloons over individuals in the image, to represent their intent and behavior, in specific social situations. Facial expression, body language and environmental context must be considered to find the correct answers. Users are given two chances to select their answers before correct answers are given.

Progress is recorded for each answer and users are able to email their scores to their teachers, parents, or therapists to track development of skills. Users must be readers or have someone available to read answers to them.

Exactly what I was looking for!

What an awesome app for improving social skills. The scenarios provide real life learning opportunities. The app has great use of meaningful visuals and effective use of reinforcement to promote learning. As an educator who works with students with autism, I feel strongly that this app is very well-designed to help users improve their quality of life!

Awesome app!!!

I love this app to target social understanding, theory of mind and perspective taking. The still images contain expressive characters loaded with non verbal language cues. My students can really put themselves in the situation viewed and make expected choices!

Thanks for a great tool to support social empathy & perspective!

What a great way to stop the action to show non-verbal intent and let kids practice reading body language & facial expression. The social situations are very familiar to users and they can really relate. Great practice over the summer.
