Amazing game

NOTE: BigDaddyRockNRoll would like to suggest the new card color scheme is somewhat painful and difficult to adjust to.

But... how could you not give this game 5 stars? It is addictive, therapeutic and spectacular for brain development.

I've played for years, and I've found a little game play before work makes me more focused and improves problem solving ability. Every day starts with a little coffee and SOLOCCO 😃

The controls take a short time to get used to, but you'll be on track in no time.

Ajcfrisbee ,

I want to like this game but…

I really want to like this game because it’s kind of a fun concept, but the developer’s execution is so lacking that I just can’t stand it. You have to constantly choose between two options: either dragging and dropping cards or tapping a card and then tapping the spot where you want it to move. I’m not sure why both aren’t simply options you can use and switch between within the game. If you select drag, you have to get the card EXACTLY where you want it or it just slides back to its original place. If you select tap, there is no option to deselect a card so if you tap on something you didn’t intend to tap, it’s going to end up in the wrong place. And the cards are so tiny they’re difficult to even see which means it’s extremely difficult to drag and tap accurately. On top of all this, the cards begin blinking in different colors once you stack 3 or more which makes them even more difficult to identify. All these things lead to a lot of extra time used, and time is the ONLY variable by which you are scored in this game - there are no variations due to cards since you get the same ones in every game. This game is more of a frustrating hassle to play than it is fun.

Developer Response ,

Dear Ajcfrisbee,

Sorry for the delayed reply. We’re working hard on a new version that adds some great new features.

I really understand and sympathise with your frustration. “Drag & Drop” is truly a drag, and I agree that it is really hard to place the cards.

Please bear with me and try SOLOCCO again with my advice to help, and you will be a great player! I am sure you will enjoy SOLOCCO, but please only use “Tap to Move”.

You don’t need to select anything since Tapping is default and, After 5 only matches, Tap to Move will be selected automatically, so you don’t see that page again. (Also, when you select the Pink Pause Button on the bottom left, you get a screen where you can select Tap or Drag.)

I had to battle to keep Tap to Move. My Italian developer friend was convinced that Drag & Drop was the only way to play a solitaire game, but I insisted that he at least offered a new “Tap to Move” concept.

VERY IMPORTANT: Sorry you didn’t understand this… When using TAP, it’s incredibly easy to select a different card if you can’t find a match at the end of any line of cards. There is NO NEED TO DESELECT! Just touch ANY other card (sometimes once or occasionally TWICE and the card you touch will start flashing (pulsating in the new version coming soon) to indicate it is “activated” or selected if you prefer, and can now be matched with another card of the same group. If you want to select a different card, just touch any different card to ‘activate’ it, when you spot a match card at the bottom of any row.

Regarding seeing the same cards, if you only play 5 matches, you only unlock the 2Z matches which are very simplified, using only a 24 card deck, to help players get familiar with making “Tap to Move” matches and finishing the easiest puzzle. The Skillz platform requires us to use the same deck of cards for all players at each level but more groups are added as the match difficulty increases (2Z, 10z, 50z and 100z). Seeing the same groups does help you be able to find those matching cards much faster.

10z Matches use 40 cards (half the deck) and are intermediate difficulty. 50z & 100z matches use all 80 cards and are much more strategic. Even masters of SOLOCCO cannot solve every 80 card game! These games are literally the biggest Solitaire challenge anywhere. They have the most permutations of possible solutions of any solitaire as well as the most permutations of “dead end” unsolvable permutations.

I must tell you about some history first:

I had a business partner who was a very clever developer. I designed the game concept and I asked my developer partner Bruno to make a new way to move the matching cards. I called it “Tap to Move” and when he made it, even his wife who always had played Drag & Drop, said Tapping was easier and lots more fun! She still plays every day and is a top player… In fact, we have data that tells us which players are Tapping and which ones Drag. About 95% use Tap and I am sorry for how poor the Drag execution is, and that you tried to use it, since it is terrible 😞 As bad as Dragging is, Tapping is really great, but it takes a little practice!

Long story short, Bruno my developer lived near Rome and he caught Covid during the first wave and he didn’t last long, and he died:( It was a huge shock and well…

We were still trying to fix bugs, but suddenly, he was gone, I was very sad, and I couldn’t find anyone who could take his place. I tried loads of different developers around the World 🌍 🌎 and they cost a fortune, but never delivered what I asked for!

Finally after over 2 years of cowboy 🤠 developers, I finally found someone, Kris, to help me and we are now trying to get the new iOS version (7.0) out next week. The new version has much improved matching card colours and pulsating brightness 🔅 🔆 to denote activated cards and show removable (by double tapping) groups. You can contact me directly at OCCO.games@gmail.com if you have any questions. Or you can register on our website www.occogames.com.

Here are some Helpful hints for the Solitaire of the Gods!

Golden Rule: Don’t use or select “Drag & Drop”!

Important Number 1 HINT:)

Try not to double tap to remove incomplete card groups, unless you have NO OTHER OPTION! When a group is complete, and it is at the bottom of any row, it will explode automatically and give you double score for that whole group.

Hint 2) Whatever card you activate, ALL cards below the activated card are also active! If you tap the top card of any row, if the next card you touch is at the end of another row, any card in the “activated” row that matches your next selection will automatically move to the matching card or group. This is more important in the tougher 80 card games, but it also is helpful for “fat finger syndrome” which I have (though I’m not fat!).

Hint 3) Look up “Solitaire of the Gods, SOLOCCO” on YouTube for short videos with some simple ways to make advanced moves:)

Hint 4) When you play on your phone, the fastest way to play is to place it on a flat table and try using 2 fingers, using both hands, so you can bounce the card rows all over the place quickly.

Hint 5) Our oldest master SOLOCCO player is 91! She has a top personal score of 10,161… Holy Cow 🐄! That’s “Moosita” and she uses a Stylus to Tap and move the cards. Perhaps 🤔 this may work best for you!?!

Every new version of SOLOCCO we create costs thousands of dollars in development. The new SOLOCCO iOS is version 7.0 and is much easier on your eyes and has cool 😎 colour coded pulsating matching groups.

I hope you’ll try tapping to move. As you can see, almost all our reviews are 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️, but none of those players used Dragging! I have put my heart and soul into making the best solitaire challenge and am totally committed to making SOLOCCO great. I hope you will reconsider your very low rating, after trying these recommendations,

Very best wishes,
Yours sincerely,

Scott

This game is so easy to learn! I get sucked into the game I always get so close to clearing the board! This is a great way to pass a few minutes but I have also found it difficult to stop pressing the play button! Great game!
