I hope the bugs are just in the app
So I’ve downloaded the app and I’m trying to figure out how to get the coupon for the Free drink if anybody can tell me how to do this I would owe them a drink.. OK I have figured out how to get the coupon for the free drink for downloading the app but when you click redeem it says to show it to the carhop when she shows up well in between her showing up in the 40 minute wait for my order,,, somebody called me and guess where the coupon went???? your guess is as good as mine.,. Because you can’t simply tell the carhop you we deemed the free drink from the downloading of this app you have to actually show them and once you’ve redeemed it you can’t pull it back up which is pretty ridiculous because if it happens to go away then you have no way to prove that you were trying to redeem it...thank goodness there are no bugs in the food because this place wouldn’t be worth coming to... but the food was great LOL..
Also the nearest sonic portion of the app never showed me which sonic was close and I’m fortunately there were three different ones in the town I was visiting so to get that fixed that would be great too. But stay positive you guys will get it...
Can’t even access my acct/ unhelpful customer support
EDIT: Don’t get your hopes up for continued use! After speaking with Sonic customer support, it is clear they are contracting with a company and have zero control over the app. They don’t tell Sonic why accounts are deactivated, which is what has happened to mine. The deactivated accounts cannot be re-activated and I refuse to create another email account just for this ridiculous app.
There is 1 star because at least one star is required. I’ve been using the app for most of the summer. There have been issues, but they were easily fixed. A few days ago I attempted to add money to my gift card to make a purchase (which is a whole different issue). It kicked me out of the app right as I confirmed the reload. I opened the app again and was asked to login. My email and password were not accepted. I attempted to reset my password several times, but I never received the email to do this. I even tried to login from a PC. When I emailed customer service, I included an outline of the steps I took. What did they do? They told me to do all those same steps as if they hadn’t read my email. Talk about not listening to your customers. What a waste of time. Many of the reviews on here are good- just wait and see. I will call them, but after reading some of the other reviews, I don’t expect to receive good or competent customer service.
Inconvenient payment method. Won’t use it because of this.
I love using apps to order food at fast food places, but this app has a very serious flaw that will prevent me from using it which in turn will prevent me from visiting Sonic as much as I might ordinarily. I may be completely wrong about this, and if I am, I will gladly edit or delete this review. From what I understand, I have to add my credit card and then purchase a prepaid Sonic card. Why can’t I just add my credit card and pay as I go from it? I haven’t seen any other place do this. I live in Chicago area and have the Portillo‘s app on my phone. It charges my credit card, I don’t have to buy a prepaid Portillo‘s card. I work in a hospital and sometimes get food for my coworkers. I couldn’t even decide on a reasonable prepaid amount. One visit I might use $10 for myself and the next could be over $50 because I’m getting food for several people. Is my understanding of this is correct, I won’t use the app to order at all, and my visits will be less frequent than other places. I can’t speak on how the rest of the app is, because I can’t use it with the payment method the way it is.
