Granular art/interactive/album

SonicScan Touch is a really amazing sounding granular app that works something like a violin or harp to be strummed or bowed, and the length of each string contains various high quality audio clips that are played by scrubbing the length of the string (linear time) and the pitch can be controlled with the secondary sub-string below each primary string. The sounds are interesting in a surreal sort of way, it's hard to know what the original sounds were so it's compelling to uncover the origin of some of the more abstract ones. I really really like the sounds that SonicScan Touch produces, it's fluid and interesting to look at in ways I've never seen. I feel like its a flash back sort of re-imagining of some earlier 2000's ideas of what humans thought interfaces of 'the future' would be like, only with SonicScan the strange outlandish interfaces with bold vivid colors with shimmery flares, the ideas were done in ways that feel natural and I suppose just good. It's completely natural using the interface, it's not totally alien using a linear time scrub for sound because most granular synth apps have this interaction, but replacing sound with shiny light bursts is not something you see everyday. SonicScan is not going to be for everyone, I don't think the user can load their own sounds so it would be hard to convince lazer focused musicians that SonicScan is a musicians tool. For those who can appreciate a good artistic piece (if you liked Thicket, Bubble Harp, sonner) for being unique and offering generally high quality sounds, I can definitely recommend SonicScan. I will say what probably most who love granular sounds are probably thinking, I would love to be able to load my own sounds up into SonicScan.
