They constantly listen to feedback. Generally isn’t buggy and if it is, it goes away real fast. What’s in it now is very very useful. Super nice to be able to do this on my phone with such ease. I’m excited for more advanced features involving chords and whatever else they add. Very happy with my Pro purchase. Big thanks Max and Team 🤙
Using Sonofield has improved my ear more than any other app/program/tool that I have used. I honestly can’t believe how much my ear has developed. I perform weekly and I have had a much easier time and have been so much more comfortable navigating the improv parts of our set since using Sonofield. Thank You!!!!!!!
It’s really easy to use anytime and it’s simple. I’ve been using the app for a week and I can already see good progress in my ear. I am able to confidently find the 1, 5, 3, 2 all because of the app. I am glad to be able to learn in this way and I am ready for growth in all scales in the future.
Hey! So good to hear your feedback. Thanks for your review! We are striving to improve the Sonofield method and the tooling around it. We'll help you translate all this learning to real music even better in the future ;) Stay tuned!
My deepest thanks to the Sonofield development team. This app is remarkably well-thought-out, ergonomic, and generous in its offerings. It provides every angle and method and key of ear training one could ask for, and in such a well-structured format. I can’t overstate how valuable this tool is to me. You truly thought of every detail, down to bpm, even further down to selecting whether or not you want the tone to repeat after the answer in pocket mode. Just an unreal attention to detail. Thank you!!
Looks nice and professionally done. But!! What about the usability / learnability? The first experience is confounding. It’s playing charades with you when it could just be prompting you with what to do. What is what? It’s trying to tell you what you did vs. the correct response but this is totally unclear. When you get it right that’s feedback is not obvious, and when you get it wrong that’s also not obvious. As a career UX designer, my advice to the developers is to watch a few new users try it for the first time, to discover the blind spots in the design, particularly around learnability.
Thank you! This is something we are actively working on. If you have some good ideas, I would love to hear them and you can let us know using the Contact Support button in Settings. Advice from a career UX designer would be very helpful!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt this one was a worthy app. I feel very lucky that I discovered Max’s channel right before this app was released. I’ve tested many different ear training apps, and all of them do an ok job of focusing on the same concepts beat into us through music school, most notably interval recognition. However, I never felt like identifying intervals made me a better musician, and maybe that because of the ways it is taught. Ive always struggled with transcription and though I’ve invested a lot of time into developing that skill, I never felt like I got better. This has been changing ever since I’ve started use Sonofield. I wasn’t sure how to feel about relying on ‘feeling states’ of certain intervals, but after trying it, I genuinely feel like I can identify intervals and melodies with so much more ease. In fact, it’s becoming effortless. I even find it easier to just identify patterns in music that I listen to, something that I’ve always struggled with. The best part, the app is constantly under development, and improving. I can tell that each update is taking care to address bugs and take user feedback. I’m very excited to see what the future of the app is!All that being said, if you want a modern, sleek, extremely helpful, and optimized app for developing your musical ear, please download Sonofield!
Damn, what a review. Thank you! So glad it's been beneficial for you 🙌
