Not work at all
I have been using this for quite long time and it's very important for what I am doing.
It was almost near perfect, 4 stars.. but recently
After It's Updating it becoming a disaster, it doesn't work any more, every time when I am choosing a song... it kick me out from the program, I own 3 iPads all does the same thing. Now I don't know what to do, I need SRDJ to fix this bug ASAP.
Let me start by saying that Rex is a great app mobile DJs. The faders are nice and long, and very smooth acting. The EQ bars are a little small for my liking, but the devs included +/- buttons to give more control, and the jog pad is a nifty way to pitch bend tracks. I love the 1 screen set up that lets me access everything without leaving the mix.
However, there is just one crippling flaw, after you tap in a BPM for a song, when you take it off the deck the saved BPM isn't stored for Rex to use again!
This is kind of a big deal, because it means that it's pretty difficult to improv a song into a live set unless you have its' BPM memorized, plus it means I have to carry a notebook of BPMs around with me. Finally, it means I'm having to calculate the percentage change for each song to ensure that the pitchfader gets to the right spot for quick drops.
Again, I LOVE REX, and I really want it to do well, and if the dev team would release just one, ONE, update to their app, it would be practically perfect.
It's a great start but dead on for now
The only reason why i say it's a good start is because like someone mentioned earlier it needs to add a looping function, i also think it needs to have pitch correction as well for when you speed and slow down the tracks... The little blobby thing to me is annoying i think that maybe if there were a few different wav displays to choose from that would be cooler as well, something that utilizes all the real estate that the wav forms have.... Also the pitch bend area could be actually split into two buttons one being+ and the other - ..... But Ike i said before its a great start and it definatly beats out all the other dj apps I've wasted my money on, this one is not a waist. Cant wait for updates to come out soon!!!
