Great Concept-still kinks to work out

I love Sorted food and have been using the Packs, now Sidekick, app for over a year now. It has been a great resource for simplifying my meal prep during the week, as well as for discovering new recipes. I took off a star for usability. The app has always had a tendency to load slowly and some components never seem to work quite right for me. In the past, the built in timers in particular often didn’t work as intended, although I’ve noticed with recent updates those issues seemed to have been resolved. At present, the most recent launch of the weekly planner has yet to work for me. I’ve updated my app to the most recent version and it still does not function properly for me.

Keeps getting better!

This app has completely changed how we cook and eat. We used to have a meal kit delivery subscription, but the kids sometimes needed more food and we got tired of some of the repetition in the types of food on offer.
Switched to trying this for a month nearly 2 years ago, and was blown away by the recipes, flavors, and servings. As a family of 4, we often only make the servings for 2 people, as the portions for many of the dishes are massive. If you have teenagers in the home, up it to 4 servings and you will have plenty of food.
Our favorite recipes come to the table regularly, and some have even made it into such frequent rotation that we always keep the ingredients on hand for a quick easy supper. Trying new dishes is fun and simple, and the new format of having ALL recipes available every week makes it super simple to seek out something new when we are bored of the usuals.
We eat more veggies and meatless dishes with this app, and I have learned a ton of new cooking techniques that were intimidating before. The app-generated list makes sharing the shopping duties fast and painless, and makes planning meals for the week so much less frustrating and time-consuming.

A subscription that really delivers!

The app truly delivers what it says. I am so impressed! Life is busy, and what Meal Packs does is take out the need to meal plan and decide what's for dinner, helping to stop my husband and I from buying out and wasting miscellaneous food in the fridge. Not only that, the recipes are perfect for mid-week cooking, easy and delicious. It's been fun to discover different cuisines I would NEVER have before tried during the week!

To anyone who's tried food subscriptions and have given up, I'll just say that I've done a subscription food box before, and to me it's greatest failing had been small portion sizes plus complex recipes compared to a higher cost. In contrast, Meal Packs gives you your list of ingredients for you to shop for what you need and can afford, in addition to a focus on recipes that would be easy after a long day of work. You are given the power of flexibility with this subscription!

A couple other things for USA users:

1. Get a scale! Makes it so much easier for Meal Packs and the Cookbooks app.

2. Ingredients can sometimes be hard to find or straight-up different. I just take a best guess and so far it hasn't ruined the recipes! Don't be afraid to substitute items.

A final thought, just that the only thing that would make this app even better would be to allow for custom Meal Packs. There are individual recipes that I like the most out of some packs, and I would love to pair them with other recipes I love!
