Useful and great overall

I use SoundMate every day and really do enjoy it. It’s much better than having to deal with SoundCloud in a tab. I hope the original developer doesn’t give up on fixing small issues that could really make this an incredible product.

Pretty good but misses the critical point!

This is almost exactly what you want. The major hang up is that instead of mapping play/pause next and reply/back to the corresponding keyboard functions, they are mapped to hot keys.
The defaults make Play=Cmd+Option+P, Next=Cmd+Option+->, and Back=Cmd+Option+<-
Any typical user of tabbed apps, such as Chrome or Terminal, will immediately realize that Next and Back are the defaults for switching tabs. It’s not difficult to change the hot keys (I just removed them), but it goes to show a laziness in developing usually reserved for free apps. There are plenty of other “browser wrapper” music apps, such as Musicality for Pandora, which use the hardware buttons, the way Apple intended.
Since this does not overload the physical buttons, the play/pause button on a default Mac will still bring up/start/pause iTunes, which feels sloppy.

Serious bug/flaw

Everything was working great with this app and then I decided to turn off the menu bar icon. After doing so I can no longer access any of the menu functions like prefences or anything. So now it is stuck in a state where the window always stays on top of other windows even if in a different space, there is no menu bar icon and I can't change any of the preferences. I tried deleting and reinstalling but it didn't solve my problem. It's been awhile since an update, please solve this! I hate paying for stuff that doesn't work, very disappointing.
