  • Wow the possibilities are endless!!

    Nevertoooldtolearn

This is the first review I have ever done on an app. I have to tell you that I waited a long time before purchasing as 15 dollars is up there in price. I was hesitant because this is another synth or so I thought. I was wrong. This is truly a unique instrument and midi controller. I decided to buy it because the free version is great if you don't need the midi capabilities. The fist thing I tried was to use it wirelessly with logic express and GarageBand. Works like a charm. Second was to assign different midi channels to different fingers. See the tutorial. It walks you through it. I even tested recording and it's perfect as a starting point for musical ideas because you can literally play four or five different instruments at the same time and yet have them record on separate mid tracks which is important as tweaking and correcting are must unless you are a virtuoso!!There are so many creative ways to use this. And just playing around with the sounds is fun as you can create so many different textures. For a future update I would love a built in arpeggiator. That would just make a fantastic app that much better!! Great job Audanika!!

  • The best controller app on iOS.

    Gitarzz

I've been a guitar player since childhood so I am not really very good at playing keyboards. This app was the solution I needed. Once I learned how to use the app with Audanica's short and well-done videos, I was able to apply everything I already knew about music into creating complex keyboard progressions with surprisingly little practice. There are several controller apps that I use but this one is definitely my favorite. Even if you're very new to music, once you watch the videos and get a basic understanding of how music works this app is nothing but fun for the novice as well as the experienced musician. The app does have some very nice internal sounds (some free, some purchasable), but where it really shines is in controlling other synth apps or connect to your computer to control your Mac/PC synths. I often blend some of the internal sounds with sounds from other apps that it's controlling. You can also assign a different sound to play for the number of fingers you have on the surface. You could theoretically play four different synths in a single piece. Beautiful and expressive.Enjoy!

  • Revolutionary for music creation

    nechronics

This app is a dream come true for anyone wanting to create intricate organic melodies without the expert musical theory training that is usually required for complex composition. It totally changes the game and I would refer people to read their mission statement in their web manual (sums it up best) to get a clearer understanding of this. The interface is both beautiful and intuitive and allows anyone to pick it up from the get go and intuitively compose wonderful melodies. As you go, you'll pick up on patterns and learn to make more complex arrangements based on logical intuitive relationships instead of having to apply complicated memorized sequences that only a musical theory course could explain. As far as I can tell, there isn't a better instrument out there that dumbs down the process any better. One improvement would be integrating a pitch/mod wheel or x-y pad into the interface. The arrow pitch buttons are good for playing sequenced arrangements or arranging scales, but are way too small and numerous to be troubled with when you just want to jam out on this thing.

  • Amazing controller

    I am an insect.

I use this for hours a day I could go on and on with all the great things I could say, I will however be honest in saying my primary purpose in writing this review is in hopes the developer will see it, I would really love if it was possible to add the ability to transpose octaves mainly down. When using this to control certain things say for instance the bass touch instrument in GarageBand the majority of the available notes are unnaturally high sounding and I have to have the bottom control that adds the octaves selected to try and combat this. I hope you know what I’m talking about the controls immediately to the right of the arrows that select the notes being sharp or flat. I don’t know how else to describe it but basically it’s either play notes way higher than I want or have it sound like an octave pedal is connected which most of the time is fine it would just be nice to have the choice to play lower notes other than that amazing app.

  • Music "Toy" with pro capabilities

    Angelwood

I am just starting to appreciate this music-making app. I initially purchased it as a toy to play with on miPad. I quickly found, however, that it is decidedly not a toy. As a musician, the layout took a little time to get used to (neither like a keyboard nor a fretboard), but the sonic capabilities are really worth the effort to learn how to play the instrument. I have just scratched the surface of the MIDI capabilities am looking forward to using this via Audiobus with other apps and recorders. As with any new instrument, the newness spawns new ideas and interesting explorations. Also, like any new instrument, the built in (and add-on) sounds become old pretty quickly. This is where I am excited to be able to control other virtual and real instruments. The number of unique sounds I will be able to build will be enormous.I reserve 5 starts for "can't believe it's so good" or for "couldn't live without it" apps. After I play a while, I'll decide whether this will fit one of those and add another star.

  • incredible!

    wilcothedog

there are a gazillion music apps available in the app store... some aren't anything but a cute trick and others are trying so hard to emulate things that already exist. very few developers are trying to occupy the space in between: something brand-new, useful and designed specifically FOR iOS. soundprism pro is exactly that. they created something that is unique to iOS music creation... something that is not only beautifully designed and easy to use, but has enormous depth to it as well. (much like apple as a co.) i cannot recommend this instrument enough. whether you're someone just excited to play around with music making, or someone looking for new things to add to your professional musical arsenal, this thing is pretty incredible and has changed the way i view iOS as a musical tool.p.s. version 2.2 is yet another giant leap forward from this incredible company... blown away!
