Space Age is a game of cosmic adventure. Set in the retro-futuristic sci-fi world of 1976, it follows a small but determined band of intergalactic explorers who land on a seemingly uninhabited planet, Kepler-16. They soon discover there’s something both strange and familiar about this alien place… And what happens next is a clash of old and new, a battle of past mistakes and future fallout.

Shift-to-drag DOES work, sort of

Too bad they let this horrible bug through. Fortunately, you can fix it by restarting the game and leaving it in windowed mode. Otherwise a very engaging and beatiful game. Almost as good as the iOS version. Only docking one star since there’s a (semi)reasonable workaround for the bug.

What a pointless waist of time

As an adventure game it is slow, not very intriguing, and too involved in its own version of reveal that is equal parts contrived and predictable. Then when it tries to be an arcade game it becomes annoying and repetitive. Once I’ve figured out the puzzle, it should be reasonably possible to execute it. Fuzzy controls and poor responsiveness combine with the quaintly dated graphics to make for an almost oxymoronic blend of boredom and hectic frustration. A waist of time, and not in a good way.

Can’t get past Chapter 2. Very frustrating.

I was looking forward to playing this game. The 1st chapter is very quick to play. I’m now at the beginning of the 2nd chapter and one of the first things you have to do is lead the science officer to your spaceship. You are supposed to do this by holding the Shift key and dragging the mouse across the protagonist and the science officer to select both characters. Unfortunately I simply can’t make this work. If I hold the Shift key and drag across them the map scrolls rather than selecting the characters. I’ve retarted both the app and my computer and still no luck. My shift key clearly works as I’m able to capitalize letters while writing this review. Very frustrating. I’m going to have to ask Apple for a refund since I can’t make it any further in the game.
