Simple one-trick pony. They introduce an animal or shape. Show it big and small, different colors and quantities. Video mode is just the tap-less version of "card" mode. REALLY needs a menu button during card mode (and I never thought I'd WANT a menu button in a toddler game!) Entertains the toddler for a few minutes. Not worth $5. Maybe $2, max.
Wonderful and Entertaining
Sparkabilities are wonderful videos that our son has enjoyed and the iPad app is a great extension of the themes in the videos. Bottle Rocket is a solid developer and has done a great job with the app which has been stable and responds well to our 10 month old's "pointing" and "taps" (jabbing and slaps).
The "Cards" are particularly excellent. Our son LOVES the series of cards where he needs to find an object and touch it on the screen. In fact, I think he races through all the other cards just to get to that section.
Well done Bottle Rocket and THANK YOU Sparkabilities for the great app idea. Now Remy can do more than just watch the videos on the iPad he can Play With Them!
Love the app but...
This app is wonderful. Colors are bright and the concepts are perfect for toddlers. The problem is the advancing of the pages. My son has special needs and he will hit the screen several times which advances to the next screen each time before he gets a chance to see each page. This would be 5 stars if you gave each page a full five seconds before it was able to be advanced. It's great for special needs kids and worth the money for vision impaired kids too. I have recommended it to our special needs community but the advancing problem really needs to be fixed in an update soon.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
