Sparrow - Golf 12+

Very cool

I’ve played golf for about 35 years and this is what I’ve been looking for. My index rose from a 6 to a 9 and I had not really watched my swing on video in forever. My takeaway has been a mess. I tried this app and have been practicing with the drills. I’m only 2 weeks in but I can tell this will change my game. Really looking forward to working on my game during the winter. My swing has always been flawed but I’m glad I have a way to analyze it without endless private lessons. I’m sure I’ll see some results on the course. This is perfect for a do it your selfer like me.

Good Insights - No Consistency

The app was giving me good tips that I could see immediate results, but this comes with the downsides as well. The tips the app gives are great, unfortunately they might not apply to your swing in that particular instance. I tested this by swinging normally and then swinging like a clown. My normal swing on average rated an 8.7 while the “clown” swing averaged around 7.4 . The problem is, my normal swing is very consistent (5 index, been playing 10+ years), but the app would score the same swing a 10 and a 5 on different occasions. Some of the “clown” swings were scored higher than my normal swing. What I noticed is the AI would compare your posture, shaft, and club head to pros, but it would not line up the timing correctly each swing. I would be at the top of my backswing, and the app is comparing me to a pro who is 1/3 of the way up their backswing resulting in a very low scoring swing. This timing issue results in fairly inconsistent results. That being said, this app still does provide good insights and tips for your game it’s just up to you to know when and how to apply them.

Great tool for really improving your game

Tried Sparrow earlier this year. First app that actually analyses and learns from your swing. Great to get step by step analysis of my swing and then recommendations on how to correct. I also liked the comparison to a PRO feature to not only see where your swing is off but to have a side by side view of a Pro swing.

I can see this as an augment to lessons since you can use this app every time you practice e as well as during a round and then review with you teaching Pro.

It’s like having a teaching Pro with you at all times.
