Description

Imagine a note or journal app, with a daily newsfeed with your personal things. It's like social media but reversed: it's about your own content instead of that of others

SpellBook is a reverse social media app - it's like Facebook or Twitter, but it's not about others, it's about yourself!
Many see SpellBook like a journaling app, yet it's so much more than that.

In a world of fake news, provoking opinions, and selfish agendas, SpellBook creates a sacred space for us to write down and DEBUG our thinking, our emotions, and our passions.

What is most important for you in your life? What are your dreams and passions?
What is blocking you from pursuing those dreams?
Why do you think like that, or have this opinion?
How do you feel about xyz? Did something happen in the past which caused this?

The answer to these questions was many times more trivial for people before the internet. In modern days however, social media tends to subconsciously answer these questions for us through FOMO and exploitative algorithms. Add to this the selfish nature of politicians, opinions and ideology and fearful hidden agendas, and you get a global mental health epidemic.

To offset this, SpellBook aims to provide a "News Feed About Yourself" - take the best tools which social media uses, and repurpose it for self-knowledge and deep inner exploration. Then going back into the world you take with you the seed of un-infected self-knowledge.

Using offline AI algorithms, you can expect a daily new feed with your most engaging content to ignite your inner fire, allowing you to engage with your unique being and expression of life, on this planet. The more you fill your SpellBook up with your personal content over time, the more of a goldmine for inspiration and rejuvenation it will become.

It's a mirror for your internal reality so that you can learn who you are, what your patterns are, what you really think, and eventually allowing you to focus on what you truly want, and change the world around you accordingly!

Features:
- Journal, Task Identifier, Idea Incubator and Emotional debugger - all in one
- 100% Offline and Private
- Dark & Light Mode
- Markdown Support
- Next-generation categorization of thinking using the four elements
- Customize your news feed with different AI-algorithms
- Like your best content, and comment on it over time. See your opinion evolve, and learn about yourself!

Enjoy the journey!

Nice work

I’ve been trying to find a good app to use as a Book Of Shadows. All the other apps I’ve downloaded for this purpose have been too clunky and/or complicated. Not this one. I was able to figure out how to use it within two minutes of downloading it. I will be using it from now on. I hope a lot more people start using it, and I hope the app sticks around for a long time to come.

Thank you very much for your kind words! 🙏

I love this app, it's one of my favorites on my phone.

It's my favorite app to keep track of my mind states and tendencies associated with such, the ability to categorize and sub-categorize helps keep everything organized. It's like the app is built for how I think. The only problem I am encountering is there is an error message that shows up every time when I click on certain things. There's a "report error" prompt, but when I click it, nothing happens on my end, so I've not a clue if it's getting submitted. For an independently developed app though, this is fine, it still exceeds my expectations. I'm more writing this so the developer(s) may see this and attend to the problem at some point. All in all, hands down the best app to track my mind and its tendencies.
Thank you for making this.
Blessed be.

Hey, thank you for your review and bug report.

The bugs (and lots of other tiny ones) will be taken care of very soon with a new update this summer!

Flawed Perfection

This app does have flaws, but it is exactly what I was looking for. The concept is unique but calmingly simple, and the interface is easy to navigate and fairly intuitive.
I will mention that the text is cut off in some places so that the entire sentence(s) cannot be read.
It takes a unique approach to journaling that I feel will be extremely effective for me.
