Designed for use with the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Portfolio, the SPIKE App is a powerful tool that helps teachers facilitate engaging, hands-on STEAM learning.
When combined with SPIKE Essential or SPIKE Prime, the SPIKE App allows students to:
- Develop computational thinking skills using a progression of icon-block, word-block, and text-based coding.
- Build, tinker, and experiment - progressing from simple creations to complex structures.
- Learn to program, test and tweak designs, debug and optimize, create stories with LEGO® Minifigures, prepare for FIRST® LEGO® League competitions, and more!

Lego is the best!
Lego does it again! This app easily links with our Spike Prime and gives you quick easy instructions on how to get started. I have a 9 year old and 5 year old and they needed little assistance from me to get started. There is reading involved so my 5 year old did need some assistance with the instructions only because he is still learning to read. My 9 year old had no problems with the clear instructions. They both easily understood the drop and drag techniques and picked up on it right away. It is so easy. The unit lessons are amazing and I love that the kids are exploring, coding and problem solving. Spike Prime is one of the best purchases I have made for my kids.
User friendly and easy to use
SPIKE is extremely easy to use and learn from.
Latest update
I manage 9 First Lego league teams and every single team has trouble with the software since this years updates. Freezing up. Programs do not update with the play button but run the program without the changes made. Constantly losing contact with the robot. Lagging as to make mistakes because kids drag things twice or three times and it destroys their program.
