Spill-App 17+

I’m not sure when I joined this app but I’d say a few months ago. It has already become my favorite social media app. It’s a social media app that gets it. The creators of the app have in my opinion have been so transparent about the process to create an environment that is accepting of all people no matter race, gender, sex, or orientation. This app really feels like community. And if there are squabbles they are handled fairly. I wish I could gatekeep it but it must be brought to the whole world for an example of how social media should be. It’s so much fun that I want to quit work and spill all day. The impact it has made on some many people is so unique. I don’t know if many people would call social media a positive place but my experiences on spill have been very positive. It’s been so positive that I believe so strongly that spill is the future of social media.

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with social media, especially in the last 5 years when things took a turn in the media from pages like shaderoom and neighborhood talk flooding our timelines with nonsense and harmful rhetorics to the black community. But SPILL has healed my heart soo much. It’s accepting to all walks of life no matter your age, gender, or sexuality. This app is like a breath of fresh air. Every time I log in I feel like I’m connecting with my cousins all across the country. We all interact with each other and there isn’t a sense of a hierarchy. Even the celebrities that join the app are welcoming and interact with everyone equally. We have lacked community for so long as a people but this app truly gives me hope. I really love it here!

For wrapping up version 1.1.1, it’s doing amazing and I can tell the team has so many new ideas on the way.

I truly hope we can figure out a way to create a social media app that isn’t built on inflammatory clicks to drive revenue but is built on community and culture as this app says. It’s doing great and I and many others truly hope that it will continue this way!

On the app, I’m already having conversations centered around black culture and not being able to grow up around my people, it means alot. Everyone on there is so kind and truly funny and you’re always welcome to the conversation!!! Nobody is being defensive, nobody is being contrarian, etc etc. Just positivity !!!! Lets keep this going !!!!
