Selected for PAX10! Indiecade 2012 Nominee! Winner of Best Puzzle Game 2011 Intel Level Up! Kotaku Gaming App of the Day!
"Nigh-on perfect. 10 out of 10" -- TouchArcade
"Easily one of the best puzzlers available on any gaming platform ... should not be missed. 5 out of 5" -- AppShack
Splice is an experimental and artistic puzzler. Immerse yourself in its microbial world and start splicing! Every level ("strand") consists of a number of cells that you will need to rearrange into a target structure in several moves ("splices"). Exploration and experimentation are key in determining how the curious little cells react to each other. Predict the sequence of splices you'll have to make in order to successfully arrange each strand. Re-sequence, mutate, and splice your way through this unique puzzle experience, and you'll exercise your ability to visualize sequential series of shapes over time. Solve your way to the final strands and you'll be left with a heady sense of mental accomplishment!
Experiment successful! It took a lot of trials, but Splice is once again available on the iPad! We've optimized performance and scaled our graphics for Retina displays, so it should be the clearest, most elegant version of Splice. Happy sciencing!

3 hours into the game and absolutely loving it!! The objective is simple - to manipulate the cells based on their properties to match the given structure. The gameplay itself is very innovative and intuitive -- not a lot of instructions are needed (nor given), but the initial stages let you experiment things and learn through simple tasks.
Unlike many of those quick mindless type of "puzzle" games out there, this one is really well made (all aspects - graphics, physics and music), and requires patience and actual analytical thinking.
After Pulse and now Splice, Cipher Prime is now one of my favorite game developer. Keep up the excellent work guys! (P.S love the way the structure responds to the tilting of the device!!)

About 10 minutes ago I left a 1 star review saying this game is horrible because its confusing and there isn't a guide to help you. Now I'm having fun figuring out every single move. This game really could be used as an IQ test. Figuring out how the game works is like solving a logic problem. If you're impatient and illogical, don't bother with this game. It takes a bit of intelligence to get a handle on things. I would give it a 4.8 just because I didn't like that there was no guide.
Cipher Prime have done it again, a beautiful, atmospheric puzzle closer to Auditorium than the other iPad offerings. Very tricky yet intuitive and naturally instructive.
The graphics are subtle and very appealing, and the music is wonderful as expected. This game is great with a touch screen, it really gives the sensation of manipulating a gene with your hands.
Well worth the asking price, something just neat that can be picked up and put down at any time.
One suggestion: there needs to be an indication from the Sequence screen which strings have angelic solutions possible, and if they have been solved as such. I'd like to go back and find those but the only indication of possible angelic is seen on the string completion screen. Also, something minor I saw in Fractal and Pulse as well, the intro screens seem to prefer one horizontal orientation when I generally use the other.
