Underwater SmartPhone Housing Camera app for SeaLife SportDiver underwater smartphone housings. Capture high-quality photos and videos. Easy-to-use with advanced camera settings including Lens selection, 10X zoom, JPEG/HEIC/RAW/ProRAW image formats, EV exposure control, auto & manual focus control, manual white balance with underwater color-correction filters, HD/4K/ProRes video formats, frame rates up to 240 FPS, stabilization, landscape and portrait image oreientation, 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, and more. View photos and play videos in Playback mode. Files are also saved to the Photos app for editing and sharing. Absolutely loved this until I upgraded to v.2.2

I have had this housing for 2 years and it is ridiculously easy to use. Used my iPhone XR until recently and recorded some incredible photos and video. Puts the GoPro to shame for ease of use. 2 days ago I upgraded to v2.2 and now it consistently crashes. More to the point, the pressurization window no longer comes up when I connect to Bluetooth so I can’t properly waterproof the housing when I insert my phone. It went from a dream to a nightmare in a matter of minutes. I should note that I recently upgraded from by X to a 13 but it was working fine until I updated the app. Please fix any bugs so I can get my housing back before my next dive trip!

I have had this housing for 2 years and it is ridiculously easy to use. Used my iPhone XR until recently and recorded some incredible photos and video. Camera no longer taking photos, but taking videos

I’ve been using the SeaLife camera housing for 5 months with my iPhone 7+. Now suddenly the camera function in the app has turned itself off. The phone still takes photos fine but the SeaLife photo function is simply not responding. This happens even when I use the app by itself without the phone being inside the housing. The camera icon remains grey and unresponsive. I can’t find any reference to this problem in the helpline and no human being to contact. I’m very disappointed! Best regards Penny Johnson, Barbados. Update - the iPhone 7+ needs to update to iOS 16. However iOS 16 is only available for iPhone 8 and upwards so I suggest the Developers either change their software to accommodate iOS 15 or change their advertising for this item. Once this is done, I’ll change my Star rating to 5, as my experience with the equipment prior to iOS 16 was fantastic. I thank them for taking the time to respond to my issue. Live view locks up

I was testing my new sport diver ultra case. Because we’re always doing 2 tank dives, I wanted to test the software and case to see that there wouldn’t be a battery issue over probably 4 hours for a 2 tank dive. Opening the case up to turn off the phone in between dives could be problematic. During my testing keeping the iphone 16 pro in the case and on over a 4 hour period, 2/2 times, the live view locked up. Showed a static image. I could access all the functions of the app, changing modes, settings, etc, but it would not take photos and the live view would still show the static image. Whatever image was showing when it locked up. This would happen about an hour and a half or two hours into my testing. I did turn off the power save function to create a worst case scenario, but that shouldn’t have any bearing on the app. My phone was still at over 50% when these lock ups occurred. Something is funky with the app. I don’t know if I can trust that this will function correctly while I’m under water and won’t lock up.

Works great in clear water at short distance

Thanks for the response I can’t wait to try out the settings changes on my next adventure.Original:I really love the phone case that this comes with, but the app itself is lacking outside of places like the Caribbean. The zoom function only seems to use digital zooming, which is effectively the same as cropping your images once you get out of the water. Modern phones have multiple built in lenses that give far superior optical zoom, and this app doesn’t take advantage of that. Related to the zooming is the autofocus. If there is any silt or particulate in the water and you’re trying to take a picture of something farther away, it will focus on the nearby silt. The use optical zoom should allow for better zoom on large distant objects.

Hi! What you are saying is not correct. The SportDiver iOS app gives you access to all iPhone lenses. Using the Triple Lens setting allows you to zoom through the actual lens, not just digital zoom. BTW, digital zooming with the iPhone is excellent. Regarding Auto Focus, we leverage Apple's auto focus engine. The SportDiver troubleshooting on the SeaLife website has helpful tips on using auto focus (or manual focus) in low vis water.
