Ratings and Reviews
Please change back the UI.
I have been a loyal premium subscriber for around 7 Years. And I’ve most the of the time enjoyed the updates. But let me tell you I absolutely hate this one. And it’s come to the point if you don’t fix this or change something quick I’m going to unsubscribe from premium and delete the app. The biggest concern I have is with recently listened to music. The way you had the UI before was perfect to me. I loved the way I could see all of my previously listened to artists on one page and scroll down. I could edit this as well. Now the new way to listen to them is trash. I can click on the artist and listen to their entire library, but I don’t wanna do that. I wanna hear the library I had in the last updates of just the songs I saved from the artist. So now I have to go the my music tab and search for the artist and listen to them that way. Which is extremely inconvenient and out of the way. It wasn’t broken. Why did you change it? Is there any way I could undo this latest update and get the previous one I enjoyed? If not I’m sorry this is such a small thing but it really made a huge difference to me. Like I said if it isn’t fixed I’m gonna delete the app, and I’m sure many others feel the same way I do.
This app is very easy to use and, obviously, the content is fantastic. I would give it 5 stars if not for one significant problem: the app’s inability to effectively control shuffle mode and repeat mode
I’m not sure if I’m the only one with this issue, but it’s been a problem for as long as I can remember. If I’m listening to an album and want to listen to it in order, I obviously want to turn off shuffle mode. But if I’ve just been listening to a playlist on shuffle, there’s about a 50/50 chance shuffle mode will actually stay off when I press the button to turn it off. Sometimes I’ll try closing the app and reopening to retry playing the album, but that also often doesn’t work. And the problem exists reciprocally too (if I’m listening to an album in order then want to switch to shuffling a playlist, I’ll hit “Shuffle Play” and the app will start the playlist at a random song but then play it in order, no matter how many times I try to turn shuffle mode on).
My opinion of this app started at 5 stars, then the issue became very noticeable and my rating went down to 4 stars. Now, I experience this issue multiple times per week (sometimes multiple times per day), so I can’t give the app more than 3 stars. I still use it religiously and love my playlists and all the other features, but this is a significant part of the listening experience that the app should be doing much better.
The new library layout is difficult to navigate
It’s a great app except for the fact that the new update changed how my music library is laid out. It makes sense to have music and podcasts in separate tabs but it is difficult to find artists I have saved to my library. You have to be following an artist for them to show up in a list in your library. I have no interest in following any of the artists I have saved. I just want to be able to scroll through all the artists whose songs I have saved, whether it be one song or their entire discography, and select their music that way. Sure, I can find them in “recommended artists” but there is no way to sort them alphabetically. Please fix this.
Also, this problem has been around for a while now, but how come whenever I look at the albums in my library, the albums that I only have a few songs saved from still display the entire album? There are several albums that have 5 or 6 songs that I like, but whenever I want to listen to just those songs, I have to make a separate playlist for them because when I start playing the album from my library, it plays all of the songs, even ones I have not saved. What the heck?
Edit: looking at the albums tab, I can now only find albums that I have saved the whole thing. It’s kind of hard to find my music now.
