Description

Are you a shortwave radio listener (SWL) in need of an up to date set of schedules for international broadcast stations? Shortwave Broadcast Schedules is a handy app that displays broadcast schedules of about 11,000 longwave, mediumwave, and shortwave broadcast stations.

The stations are initially listed in order by frequency. You can tap a button to see which stations are on the air right now, as well as search for stations by name, frequency, time of day that they are on, or select by language, target area, or country of origin.

Stations currently on the air are displayed in bold, making it quick and easy to see which stations are on right now.

The app can keep a log of stations you have heard, with the date, time, frequency, SIO, and other notes you wish to enter. Now your device can be your personal logbook!

You can keep track of favorite stations, as well as set reminders for favorite broadcasts, so you’ll never forget about a transmission again.

Tap on a station to bring up more information about the station, such as the country of origin, target area, and programming language.

When viewing the details for a station, you can tap on the frequency, country, target, or language to get a list of all other stations with that matching value. You can also tap on Schedule to see all of the transmissions throughout the day for this station.

Updated schedules can be downloaded for free.

I Use It Constantly

Works great using an iPad Air2 with iOS 10.2.1. I love listening to shortwave, and if you're gonna do that, you absolutely have to have a "TV Guide" handy to figure out what's on. This app really fills the bill. I love the "On Now" button... It really helps you to narrow down and figure out what you've found while DXing. Also great is the ability to search using multiple criteria. If you wanted to know what's on now in English (for example), you can! Also keep a log. Since I've gotten the app, database updates seem to happen at least several times a month... Much better than having to rummage through supplements like with printed guides (works offline too). Other DXers wonder how I solve their mystery finds so quickly... This is how. A wonderful app, and well worth the modest cost.

Indispensable!

I have used this app for many years and have found it to be extremely helpful in identifying SW stations when cruising the bands, or simply finding out what’s on the air at any given time in a particular band. The app is well thought out, the information is displayed logically, and the logging feature is excellent (no more hassles with scribbling notes on paper). The only small nit I have to pick is that the list of logs is presented in chronological order, which means I have to scroll to the bottom of the list to check on recent logs. The entries should be displayed in reverse chronological order, i.e., with the most recent one at the top of the list. Overall, this app is outstanding; every SW aficionado should have it!

Excellent app for SWL'r

I just started using this app and I really like it. Easy to use and understand, with the on now feature makes shortwave stations identifiable even though their non English speaking stations. Logging is super easy, just a push of a button with the ability to make comments and write signal strength reports. At any price this is a very nice SWL utility.
Improvements or upgrades that I'd dream of would be a receiving station lat/Lon specific sort. As in "what stations maybe available to the east coast of North America ." Otherwise I can flip open my IPAD pro, sit it next to my listening post and enjoy what's left of the SWL bands.
