Description

We're proud to bring to you the hugely successful astronomy & star gazing app - Star Chart - downloaded by over 20 million people world-wide.

Star Chart lets you explore the solar system and night sky in a beautiful and accurate real-time simulation.

Delight in exploring the solar system, from the Sun to the smallest moons of Saturn and out to the coldest, darkest, farthest reaches of Pluto. Gaze down and marvel at our solar system from above. Look up in wonder at the rings of Saturn. Feel the awe of floating in space around worlds no human has yet set foot on. Understand how the constellations of our night sky are made up of stars distant to each other in both space and time. Embrace the impossible distances of our solar system and the inordinate scale of our universe.

Star Chart currently includes:
- An accurate real-time simulation of the visible stars and planets as you see them from Earth
- Accurately depicts all the stars and constellations of the northern and southern hemispheres
- A 3D solar system to explore, including the Sun, the planets, major moons and more
- A Sky View mode that recreates your view of the night sky from your own GPS coordinates
- All 88 constellations based on the beautiful artwork of 17th century astronomer Johannes Hevelius
- IAU Named rocky planet surface details.

What better way to learn about the night sky and astronomy than to immerse yourself as a virtual astronaut travelling through space. This experience is the perfect way for both the young and old to let their inner child experience the thrills of embracing the final frontier.

Star Chart

I downloaded Star Chart on a new MacBook Pro thinking it was the same Star Chart I downloaded on my iPad and iPhone. (Same Logo, same company). While this app provides beautiful images and the ability to fly to solar system objects (sun, planets, moons and some asteroids) it does not have the ability to explore and track deep space objects from the Earth view, like the same app on iPad or iPhone. Therefore, it is not useful as a sky chart when using a telescope, unless I have completely missed something. There don't seem to be any settings to enable additional functions, so it is what it is. Perhaps there is functionality on mobile devices that doesn’t exist on a laptop. (?)

at a loss to make this work

Downloaded on the MAC book Pro. I can find no controls or menus for anything. I have this on my iPhone and have no problems at all. Great app for the iPhone. I went to support outline and cannot find root cause of inability to find any menus.

Practically useless

Using a iMac with Catelina 10.15.3. All you can do is move around the sky with very limited range, zoom to planets and then zoom planets larger but with no increase in detail. Constellations come on when they feel like it. There are no controls. It was a waste of $2.99, a pretty low bar.
