I’ve tried a lot of astrology apps, and this is one of the few where I actually feel like I’m getting a ton of value for free. The birth chart breakdowns and daily horoscopes are detailed, accurate, and genuinely helpful, not just generic one-liners. I ended up purchasing one of the soulmate add-ons out of curiosity, and it felt really thoughtful and aligned with my chart in a way that actually made sense. You can tell there’s real astrological expertise behind it. It’s become something I check regularly, and I appreciate that you can get so much out of it without paying, while still having the option to go deeper if you want.

So when I first started using this app, the daily horoscope was full of depth and overall was fairly accurate. I loved how it helped me from my day to day life. Not only that, but it was neat to see what my soulmate could’ve been up to that day. However, I feel as of recently the quality of the app has definitely downgraded. The horoscope just feels like it’s been copy and pasted over and over. Whenever I read my horoscope, I swear to god it feels like I read the same thing as the day before. Also, the whole “Your Soulmate’s Day” is WILDLY different from when I first downloaded the app. I know it’s not meant to predict what my soulmate is doing that day but I’m fairly certain they aren’t always doing yoga or working on a business project. I guess I’m disappointed because the app has definitely changed and not for the best.

Starcrossed is mildly useful as a quick and easy reference to pull up my birthchart. I started the free trial to see what all the premium features do but I'll be deleting the app once the trial is up. The visual design of the app is beautiful but all of the text and audio content within it are AI-generated. This is most obvious in the "weekly readings" audios. Seriously, the ChatGPT-isms in this thing are so glaringly obvious... I could send a screenshot of my birthchart to ChatGPT and get this same content for free. Also, the voice for all these "readings" is AI, which is grating to listen to after about a minute because it's so flat and all these audios go on for like 15 minutes. There's a feature where you can "draw your soulmate" but it just AI generates a picture of a random person. In short: having AI explain my astrology to me sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? There's no soul to any of this. I don't need a computer to give me insights.
