Take control of your STCU debit card with just a tap.
• Turn your card completely on or off. When your card is off, all transactions except recurring payments will be declined until you turn it back on. This helps protect your account if your card is lost or stolen.
• Set spending limits for children or other card users.
• Get notifications when your card is used, when a transaction exceeds the limit you set, or when a transaction is declined.
• Restrict online or international transactions, or set restrictions based on geographic location.
This app requires the STCU Mobile Banking app also to be installed. For more features and details about STCU apps, visit stcu.org.

Well, this app once again does not work. As other users have experienced, won’t let me log on. I turn off my card when it is not in use. Went to turn it on yesterday to make a purchase - and it won’t log me on. Again. If you can’t make an app that functions correctly, then don’t put it out there. Beyond frustrating that I have to go to a branch to access my money when the app was supposed to help me control my card. And when I call - there are only two options: They can turn the card on fully (without the customization I want, like blocking certain transactions and spend limits) or leave it blocked fully. Between my card inexplicably being blocked during the holiday with no one able to tell me why (“There’s no rhyme or reason to it” is what I was told) to being treated badly during a customer service call and now this crappy app, I’m looking elsewhere to bank.
Addendum: This app is STILL not working. Looking at other reviews, you can see how far back this problem goes - and it still isn’t fixed. I had to call to get my card turned on, and asked - again - when this app would be fixed. The answer? “I have no idea, sorry.” There is also no way to access card control from a desktop computer or the web-based site either. My recommendation is that no one download this app. It is very apparent that resolving this issue is not a priority of the developer, even though so many people have been having this issue for a long time.

Good idea, bad execution
The app is very useful and dynamic... When it works. The first time I used it I was automatically logged in through my existing stcu app, was never prompted to create any login information, used the app to stop automatic payments, and now that I want to reactivate them the app won't allow me to log in. I have tried every password option I can think of, including my mobile banking login info, but can not access the app. It bounces between the original mobile banking app and the card control app in an increasingly frustrating feedback loop. I'm left with no contact information to get the problem resolved, and no option to reset or create new login information. Asinine design in attempt to look flashy and modern has left me unable to use my card.

Retire this app if you can’t get it to work
I have experienced the same issues other reviewers have noted and the app has worked - sort of - in the past. However, today (even after reinstalling the app), I end up in an endless loop. I open the app to have it tell me I need to first open the STCU mobile banking app and select card control (what app does this/tells you to go open another app 1st?!). I do that and it launches the card control app only to tell me I have to go back to the STCU mobile banking app I just opened earlier as instructed. Totally crazy. I’m failing to see any value in this app.
