Terrible app for such an important service
This app was bad when I first installed in 2019 and it’s gotten worse since with no updates. It’s difficult to login. The app isn’t comparable with iOS and it’s extremely buggy with needing multiple logins get it to
Work. I’ve deleted and reinstalled multiple times. Now, the feature where they ask you to substantiate your claims and submit a receipt, nothing pops up now since Nov 2019 when the app began slowing down. I tried to submit a receipt when it randomly allowed that feature and you can only upload one image for the entire claim which defeats the purpose of getting the claim approved If you need to take more than one photo. Going to the webpage via mobile browser is the only other option when the app fails and that page as well is not formatted correctly and information and fields aren’t visible on the screen.
This is a basic, cost-cutting company who will deny claims for the most asinine reasons, will ask for substations for a dental office’s charge under $20, and disable your FSA spending card after 30 days, (45 with notice)-when most larger and reliable agencies give you 90 days to get documents together. So yeah, I’m not surprised this app is so terrible. It is a reflection of the culture and integrity of the company.
Feels like somebody's school project
Everything about this app - from the barely-functional login screen (yep, the keyboard covers the password field - even on an iPhone XS!), to the inconsistent layout that leaves a weird gray bar across the top of the screen, to the "we just threw a web view on an existing mobile page" approach, to the "SterlingAdmini..." app title on the home screen, feels like a homework project that was thrown together the day before the deadline by somebody new to iOS development.
If this is Sterling's level of tech professionalism I'm concerned about the company as a whole.
From bad to worse
I used to be able to look at balances, debit card activity, claims, etc. now I get a pop up that says “Sorry” along with a poorly written excuse stating the information isn’t available at this “moment”. Wish I could find the right moment. It’s been doing this for months!
Yes, I’ve done the “troubleshooting” for the app. Just uninstall and reinstall. No changes. I have to use the web site. It has its own special challenges with screen layout. UI and UX are definitely not a concern with SterlingHSA.
