Very fun game

I love this game. I played a few rounds and then this was an immediate buy.

It would be awesome to have a couple of features added:

1. Clear board option for those times it might be easier to start over but you don’t want to resign

2. Ability to lock some blocks in place because they can’t logically be anything else. A double tap could lock and a double tap again to unlock. Locked blocks don’t get cleared when using the clear board option (or that is a toggable setting to choose to clear locked blocks or not)

I know that adds a tiny amount of complexity to an elegantly simple game but I would love to have those features.

Thanks for making such an awesome game!

Thanks so much for the kind words about Steve :)

Since before Steve was ever released, I’ve debated with friends and family if there should be a “Clear Board” button. I decided not to add one because it might take away some of the challenge when competing for the fastest time. But enough people have asked for the feature that I’m getting close to adding it anyway.

Great suggestion about locking blocks. I’ll give it some thought. There might be a way to add that while not making things too complicated - like you said.

Heavy on casual, light on puzzle

I downloaded this hoping it would be a nicely presented logic puzzle similar to Filling from Simon Tatham’s online puzzle collection. It’s visually similar, but not really a logic puzzle. Solutions are not unique, and I couldn’t find a way to mark a square as definitely belonging to a region without defining the entire region. (Or a way to take any other kind of note.) The lack of note-taking turned out not to matter, though, since lightly informed guessing seemed to be a viable strategy in expert mode, with almost no backtracking required.

The presentation is nice, though.

I wish Steve could’ve earned 5 stars, but I appreciate the honest review! Thanks for giving the game a try :-)

If you’re a competitive person, give The Daily Steve puzzle a go and see how fast you can solve (even easy puzzles) against other players on the global leaderboard.

I love it and hate it at the same time! Which makes it a perfectly frustrating and satisfying puzzle game. No ads, no subscriptions. Just a simple $2.99 for the full version forever. Just as an iOS game should be!
