Stickies - Sticky notes app 4+

Good little app with a few things that could be improved

This is a good replacement for the Stickies app built into MacOS. It has more functionality when it comes to formatting, with a toolbar appearing directly in the lower portion of the note with lots of options. At the moment, my only two issues are:

1. Why does it take a few seconds for a new note to appear? The nature of a sticky note is that you want it to pop up immediately to store some key information on the fly. Having to wait these few seconds interrupts my workflow and is an annoyance.

2. Why is the keyboard shortcut to delete a note command-D? Why not a little X in the upper corner like every other app on earth? Why not command-shift-delete? Why can’t I customize this to change it to whatever I want?

3. Lastly, I’d love to be able to drop a file onto a note to embed it. This works with images, but how about PDFs, docxs, and others? This would increase the app’s the functionality tenfold.

If you fix these two things, this will be a perfect 5-star app. Thanks!

Good Sticky App - Needs UI Tweaks

I have been looking for a sticky app with the kind of features Stick-ies offers. This is a very versatile app and comes with a ton of customization options. I love it for that.

There are a few UI tweaks I would love to see resolved, like the black outline around the sticky that keeps on reappearing when interacting with the sticky. The rounded corners and drop-shadow are also glitchy, but all in all this is a good app that offers way many more options than the other apps like it.

Misses the point of Markdown

bought into the app because of the advertised markdown support. However, this app pretty much misses the point of Markdown: formatting plaintext with symbols, dodging the hassle of clicking through format options.

While it does format stickies based on Markdown, it destroys the markdown symbols after the formatting is applied. Effectively, this means the original Markdown is destroyed, making it impossible to copy-and-paste Markdown notes taken in this sticky note app to other applications.

Many of the features are nice quality-of-life improvements compared to the stock Stickies app. However, destroying markdown symbol formatting makes using this app for drafting notes, unfortunately, a non-starter for those who would like an option to draft markdown notes.

The app supports Inline Markdown, which is the way it works. As we type the formatting text, the editor keep on formatting it on the go. If you need plain markdown text, without any formatting, we can think about adding support for it (export or copy as plain text something).
