*NOTE* When you use a headset or external speakers through the headset port or USB, the startup sound can't be muted! You have to remove the headset or speakers before closing down and reconnect after startup.
With SilentStartup it's easy to (temporarily) mute the startupsound of your Mac. You can also indicate that you want to keep the sound muted after the startup. This comes in handy when you use the facility to start your mac automaticly and don't want to be disturbed by any sound. It's easy to unmute the sound manually after startup, in the usual way.
- 10.14 Mojave ready
- added: volumetesting
- added: directions for setting up SilentStartup
- little enhancements

I have downloaded Version 1.1.1, but I can not check any options, such as " Mute startup sound". Probably my lack of understanding, but since there are no instructions on how to load and execute, I can not get it to work!
Don’t buy it.
This app doesn’t work.
Great for quieting the startup sound
This app allows you to skip the startup sound (which is annoying to me/inturrupts in quiet locations).
However, it would be a 5-star app if “sound stays muted after startup” option actually muted my computer, instead of just lowering the volume to zero and then have me revert it back up to 50% when I do want sound again.
PS. for those who dont know, the startup sound is tied to the hardware. (it goes off to show the hardware is ok) to mute the sound without this app requires you to mute before shutting down or just always stay with mute on.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
