Most recent update has issues

I love this app, but with this latest update, the sort button is all out of sorts. Want oldest to newest? They’re all out of order. Want newest to oldest? They’re all out of order. I like to listen to a lot of my podcasts in order, and now I have no clue where I am and it’s frustrating.

Way overated & crippled app

In theory the concept behind this app is great: take your favorite podcasts, radio shows and turn them into custom stations which shuffle continuously. Find recommendations based on what you listen to and integrate your listening activity into your Facebook timeline.

Unfortunately, the development behind the concept was very short sighted. For any podcast that you add, you are not able to access nor listen to any previous episodes other than the five most recent ones. Also, MANY podcasts are missing from search and there's no way to add them manually either. Stitcher "custom picks" which podcasts they'll include in their search so you're at the whim of their taste as to what you can and cannot listen to. Other minor irritances such as there being no way to stop the app from automatically playing any podcast you select to find more about. It also immediately starts playing when you open the app and theres no way to turn that off.

You're really better off with an app like Downcast that has much more control and features and you can add any podcasts you listen to custom playlists of your choosing and and they'll play continuously just as Stitcher does but you will be able to find ANY podcast you want or choose to manually enter AND you can access ALL the past episodes, not just the last five.

Overcast is way better

The only reason I keep this app is to access premium content from earwolf. I otherwise find it extremely frustrating to use and not intuitive. The playlists are not very customizable in my experience. I can’t erase episodes from the list only mark them as played so the lists end up being very long and unwieldy. If I listen to one second of a podcast, it then shows up below any unplayed episodes so I have to scroll down the list to see it. You cannot manually reorder episodes to your preferred play order or set priorities so your favorite shows always show up first in the list. I also downloaded old episodes of a show since the archives are only on stitcher but then had to manually scroll back through years of podcast episodes to find the ones I downloaded since they only show up by order of release and don’t prioritize downloaded episodes. Either that or manually search for them or take the time to mark hundreds of episodes as played in order for the episodes to show up on the top of the list. I don’t want to have to go to a separate downloaded episodes list when I’ve taken the time to make a playlist for a specific podcast. The downloaded episodes of that podcast should show up first. These are just a few reasons why I strongly prefer Overcast as my go to podcast app. If stitcher made some of these changes I at least wouldn’t be actively angry anytime I tried to listen to threedom.
