I was looking for a calculator that would show me my annualized rate of return. This is simply a calculator for determining percent profit/loss. Way too expensive for what it does.

i feel the same about Stock Calculator as does LocalTraveler: it's very simple but exactly what i was looking for. Stock Calculator presents two simple forms: a Buy form and a Sell form. in the Buy form, you enter the purchase price per share and the number of shares purchased, and the form returns your cash outlay for the purchase; you can then enter your proposed sell price into the Sell form, and it will display your net profit in both dollars and cents and your total return as a percentage. you can include commissions and taxes if you like; you preset these amounts in a dialog box and can then simply check or uncheck a box for each at the bottom of the form window, depending on whether you want to include them. very simple and highly functional.the design of the app is just a little funky in that there's no Preferences... dialog; commission and tax rates, which i would expect to be set in such a dialog, appear instead as individual menu items under the Edit menu. it would also be nice if a future version of the app would let one calculate returns on short sales (version 2.0.1 can't do that as such).overall, i think $7.99 is a reasonable price for such a simple and helpful little tool. i expect i'll use this app often.(unlike LocalTraveler, though, i didn't find a free trial version on the App Store. maybe it's been discontinued or is available through the developer's website or something?)

It is just OK, but it is not worth that amount.
