A war game and grand strategy in one, ST2 is a mobile game you can play offline, with no internet connection required.
Strategy and Tactics: WW2is a mobile game that will invoke memories of classic PC strategy games set during World War 2.
In the style of the best 4X PC games, you get to lead a nation (from a small state to a superpower) and carry it to global supremacy using not only the might of your army but also economy, science, and - in a first for the series - Diplomacy! Create alliances, send troops and resources to your allies, stir conflict among your neighbors, and be - or don't be - a double-crossing backstabber.
Capturing enemy territory is just one of many paths to victory in ST2. Paradoxically enough, in this offline turn-based strategy, you don't have to go to war to win one: breaking the enemy army's fighting spirit can be enough.
As military commander, you'll take an army of infantry and tanks, fighters and bombers, warships and artillery to war.
As head of state, you'll be choosing the leaders that will lead your nation to supremacy. The strategy is up to you: inaugurate a general, a politician, or even a writer. Each leader brings their specific bonus into the mix and will affect your tactics.
Complete objectives and delve deep into hardcore grand strategy, or play ST2 as a risk-free sandbox game at your leisure.

- Science and technology: enhance your tactical capabilities with 8 different branches of scientific research. If bombing raids and air supremacy are your style, invest in the air force branch. Or research diplomacy if you're after creating the world's most powerful alliance to minimize your risks.

Fantastic game

The game is extremely historical accurate (except the scenarios in the Americas) with uniforms and equipment being extremely accurate. I only have an issue with the fact the game throws in app purchases in your face and that a lot of the scenarios don’t give America the credit it deserves in WW2, like in the civil war scenarios and final stronghold, America should have at least a 4 tech rating because that was the tech at the time

great game but some annoying problems

i really love this game, i often compare it to hoi4 if it could be on phones and it helps kill time and helps scratch the hoi4 itch when im away from my pc. Even if i had never known what hoi4 was id still love this game though. while this game is great there are some annoying things, first off all countries are locked at the start but 3, id much prefer this game have a way to pay a couple dollars to buy all countries at once, if this is read by the creator id like to say i understand if this isnt added because it would ruin the entire mission rewards system once bought because theres no new countries to buy but you still would have to buy most maps with the in-game money. also this game takes you to the shop to much, i dont need a reminder that theres a shop every time i finish a mission. now for one very minor gameplay issue, with the new trench mechanic for infantry if you misclick the button it instantly wastes turns as you have to get the infantry out of the trench right after, itd be better if you had to press the ! button similar to other commands, anyway as i said this is a great game and i really recommend it to people, and if these issues are fixed i will go back to here and change my review from 4 to 5 stars

A complete downgrade from its predecessor

The freemium model destroyed my favorite series. Reinforcements are monetized and research stops by the time you reach 1940. as the Allies, you can steamroll Germany by allying every country. Diplomacy is run by AI communism where they take but never give… frequently. Historical is not historical. Ahistorical works the same way. Game freezes by 1942 frequently, I left it on for a few hours because I had nothing better to do. It was still frozen trying to calculate the Hungarian world conquest. I force closed the app and the troops I bought got sent to the shadow realm and if the dev‘s poorly designed game can pass a turn without freezing or crashing, I get my troops back. This actually happens frequently but was never addressed. Customer service is nonexistent and you can’t find the button in game. You have a better chance writing an email to someone who tried to rob you and get an apology or your money back.

Paratroop infantry are monetized or locked behind ads with barely function. I got Asia from a daily reward but can’t play it. Some Chinese warlords lack unique flags and that leads to confusion. This game would have been better sold as a premium product without all of those microtransactions. Instead, I’m given a broken product.
