Love STRINGS
A friend introduced me to this app. I’m a first generation Canadian and my parents who are in their 70s immigrated to Canada over 50 yrs ago from Croatia. I currently live in the States and my parents live between Toronto and Croatia. They both have iPhones and know how to text but they are only comfortable messaging in their native language. I can speak it but I can’t read or write so I have to use Google translate each time. Not anymore. With Strings the translation is done automatically in the app. I text my parents in English and they get the text in Croatian. They text me in Croatian and I receive it in English. We text so much more now. I feel more connected with them and they feel more connected with me. We also have family group chats. Now my parents can text with all 10 of their grandkids and everyone perfectly understands each other. In this new tech world my parents can still participate. I’m so happy with Strings and so glad my family uses it.
Perfect app for us and our nanny
We recently started using Strings to help us communicate with our nanny, who speaks mostly Mandarin. This app has been a huge help in transforming the way we interact and manage daily activities for our newborn.
My husband doesn’t speak Mandarin and so I was having to field nearly all the communication and coordination with the nanny. With Strings, the app effortlessly translates messages between our languages, ensuring that instructions, updates, and casual conversations flow smoothly without any misunderstandings between the three of us.
Messages are delivered instantly. And translations are actually very good quality. I was a little unsure at first but it’s been a great experience.
Our nanny often has her hands full, so we’re very much looking forward to hands free voice messaging.
Overall such a good app. Can’t wait to see how it evolves.
Amazing for my family group chats!
We had a few different family group chats in WhatsApp because my parents speak Korean while others speak Chinese and some only speak English. We can finally be in one group chat! And people can understand each other! It is very trippy to receive messages in Korean from family members who know zero Korean. Very cool app and so easy to use.
