Ratings and Reviews
Loved it… Liked it… Now hate it
Have persisted through many evolutions and countless hours of playing this game. Developers made major improvements and graphics are dramatically better. Gameplay got better for a while until this leagues concept. Okay, maybe it was interesting at the beginning ranks, but it gets dramatically harder and advancement take ridiculously longer, and by black diamond it becomes depressingly hard to advance, then if you stop for a couple hours lose pretty much all you progress, as in HOURS to recover. To get to the top of this final league can take 5-6 hours of non-stop play. Then to top it off doesn’t recognize making it to P1 and you start the rank all over when the clock runs out.
Also buying “better” ships gains you nothing in sinking ships. The only thing worth paying for is the ads block. Also it seems to crash every 14-15 minutes adding to time penalties.
Used to be fun to play for a few minutes, do some sinking, then put it down. Now it would be depressing just to see how far down the ranks you fell. Earning most of the stuff gains you nothing, buys you nothing.
Not sure what the next evolution holds, but I’m done.
Need More Info and Realistic Ship stuff
I have fun with this game b/c it’s an easy diversion. A few issues though. 1) why can you sink a Cruiser with one torpedo, but need a couple to sink a Destroyer, which is a more lightly armored ship? They didn’t call them Tin Cans for nothing. 2) It’s not realistic that the ships keep moving at the same speed once they’ve been hit, especially if you strike them in the rudder area, they would lose a lot of maneuverability. It might be realistic that the larger ships might not lose as much speed or maneuverability, the smaller ships certainly would. 3) I already built the Yankee port, and have been on the next one after this for several rounds now, but there is no rectangular button showing in the lower right hand that will actually allow you to build it. 4. Some explanation of what “Main” means in the improvements you can make. 5. Why can’t you control the sub’s movement to get around on the other side of the hospital ship? Once after I hit the big ship behind it a couple times, the hospital ship went in front of it and never moved off of the ship. I fired torpedos out in front of it and the rear, to see if that would cause it to move, but nothing happened. Had to close the app and start over. 6. Finally, sub warfare is most often conducted against a complex convoy, not against battleships, Japanese aircraft carriers (Flattops). 7. Finally some increasing level of complexity would be nice.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for playing the game and spotting these issues! This game is an arcade - don't expect simulator experience. If you want hardcore try Silent Hunter series. But we will add more features later - it's slow but steady process. Watch out for updates. If you have specific suggestions - please write to trofygames@gmail.com. We are open to your ideas.
1. there's no cruiser only different destroyers. we will experiment with torpedoes later
2. we will think about it
3. You finished all the ports available atm. We will add more later
4. more zoom , more points per level
5 cause it's an arcade with simple controls. some levels are broken please use skip level until we fix them
6-7 we will think about that, thank you
Has a lot of potential
I’m guessing this is an early version and it will only get better. There are some glaring deficiencies but it’s still entertaining. It definitely needs a game tutorial of some sort it’s purely launch and figure it out as you go right now. It’s not complicated but still needs a “how to” menu. Why upgrade deck guns that are not available during the game? And what benefits are gained by building bases? Not to mention surfacing and submerging abilities or lack of. I do like the graphics and periscope views along with torpedo trajectories. I did spend the $4 for ad free gameplay which improve the experience a lot. There are still ads you can voluntarily watch for upgrade bonuses. I also see a large promotion for a premium Gato class submarine for $9.99. What exactly are you gaining by purchasing this? I really hope the VooDoo developers don’t abandon this project and keep tweaking and updating because it’s definitely fun but can be improved. Edit: 8/6 With the latest update the simulation no longer loads on my I pad 9th generation. It works fine on I-phone 14 max what gives?
