Love it, works great for converting idx/sub to srt
I can’t speak for other sub file types, but for my purposes, this app works flawlessly. You take the idx and sub files (must be identically named) and drag them from the Finder window into the white space of this software window, and the software automatically analyzes and then prompts user to indicate language source from and to, then you hit convert, and a few moments later you’ve got your single SRT file which you can also edit! Then save, and look for it in the default folder where it was saved (in my case Documents). Then copy from there into your video folder so the SRT can accompany the video file.
Does what it advertises, well worth the $1.99
I have been troubled by many subtitles not correctly encoded, subtitles in foreign languages at times show up as gibberish. This app opens the subtitle and guesses the encoding correct every time, and the conversion is painless.
There is a little imperfection, the first time every SRT is convert to replace the original file, the program first gives an error, but upon the second conversion attempt, things go smoothly. It is not a show stopper, but a minor hiccup.
Simple and Perfect Solution
I have now used this software several times to convert .sub subtitles to .srt. Results were all perfect. The UI is simple. Just drag and drop the necessary files and click convert. After several months of searching, I have yet to find an easier solution to do this.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
