I’d love to know how the game is, in game, but I never got there. The opening screen requires you to agree to the terms to play. It doesn’t let you read the terms, but you’ve got to agree to them. Then I was greeted with a full screen add to play a game. I refused to play the game. It kept going for several very long minutes and refused to give me an exit screen. I finally complied, just to move forward. I played the game for the better part of 5 very long minutes, to be given the chance to download the game. So I did. I still don’t have an exit button. I’m going to delete and go play the game it advertised (after I make sure it’s not owned by the same parent company). So much potential, ruined by greed. I’d have paid probably $10 for the game because it looked so nice. No chance I’m sitting through adds and I’m certainly not renting the game for a subscription fee. Legendary fail. Possibly the worst app experience in 15 years.Wish I could attach a screenshot of the downloaded available game to go to with no method of exiting.I’ve closed and reopened the app only to have to start the process over again, with the same advertisement, which turned out to be a bait and switch add. The downloaded game is nothing like the game you’re forced to play.
I’ve had this app downloaded on my phone for years. I understand the app is feee so I have never been bothered by the ads that play between games or when you first open the app, but now there is also an obnoxious flashing, bright colored ad on the actual game board as you play which is very distracting while playing and also ugly. The best thing about this app was that after the ad was done, you weren’t bothered by them again in the same game session unless you closed out the app. Off to the next Sudoku app that’s actually ad free
I’ve been playing this game for some time and enjoy the controls and the puzzles. I have bought several packs of puzzles at different difficulty levels and until recently enjoyed them very much. The problem is the ads, which have always displayed above the puzzle board (even after I’ve paid for puzzle packs, which is disappointing). In the last few weeks, those banners seem to be flashy enough to be distracting while I play; unfortunately that isn’t the worst problem. The ads I now have to wait for a close button to appear on them every time I open the app aren’t the worst problem either, though they are mighty annoying indeed. The most appalling are the ads that interrupt gameplay mid-game, full-screen, and make you close them before continuing to play. This, in an app I’m paying to play? That’s galling. It’s behavior I might expect from a free app of much lesser quality. Bottom line: this is a good game made unplayable by intrusive ads that ruin gameplay. I’d recommend avoiding; even though these are the best controls for Sudoku on the iPhone that I have found, lesser version of the game her also much less annoying.
I downloaded the free version of this application for my iPhone. The advantage of this sudoku versus most other online versions of this game is the player's ability to make notes on the puzzle, wholly separate from your actual answers. This has often been a source of frustration for me when playing other versions of this game online. I found many of the puzzles in this app to be up to par in difficulty for most average/novice players (like myself). My only complaint is that the app only allows for one note to be made at a time, per square. Two-to-Four notes allowed per square would be ideal. Other than that, I greatly enjoyed the free version of this app, it has kept me sane during boring activities like appearing in court and at my tedious day job as a Neurosurgeon. Thank you sudoku, without you I might actually have to pay attention.
I love this app; it's the only sudoku app I have because I'm so picky about the layout. It's basically perfect, but I'd really like the option to turn off or hide the timer and scoring. I don't play sudoku to beat the clock or get a high score, I play it to relax and have fun. If this option was added I'd be a very happy camper indeed. :)I also just remembered something about the packs that could be fixed. I think 99¢ for 100 puzzles is fair, but sometimes I just don't want to buy a new pack. This wouldn't be a problem if playing through packs you've finished wasn't such a hassle. Once you finish a puzzle, it doesn't go on to the next one in the pack, you have to manually pick the next one. I'd like it if it automatically picked the next puzzle in a used pack like it does when you're playing through a new one. Thank you for this wonderful app!
Good UI, easy to use and appropriately hard to solve. My only request is, I couldn't see a way to tell which puzzles were medium, which are hard. Just a numbered list apparently going from easy through hardest. So I decided to start at the beginning and worry later if they were so easy I had to find where the harder ones begin. But no problem -- I'm enjoying the easy ones. The app and the games within launch smoothly, I like the feature of a separate keypad for notes and overall the behavior of the UI is very businesslike, doesn't get in the way of the game with a lot of animations. The music is supposed to be soothing I guess, "yoga music" which I find irritating. It was easy to turn off. Simply a fine app. I have no complaints!
