Quick and easy and basically perfect

I've used this app since it was just Superimpose, over 5 years now, and no app has come close to how much I like this one. I use it for making funny little edits and memes for my friends and social media and it's perfect for casual stuff like that. I've even used it to help a couple friends edit professional or important pictures. Hair looks great in one pic, face looks great in another, outfit looks great in another, background looks great in yet another, and I'm able to combine them all into one perfect picture, typically in less than 30 minutes. I have an iPhone 12 Mini, so my phone screen is very small, and I'm still able to create great and realistic edits with just my fingers on a touch screen!

I have no critiques but do have two recommendation I would put forth. One is that for the "distort" feature , you should be able to lock the parts of the photo you don't want affected by the distortion, as the "restore" function is a bit finnicky. The other is that for the "mask" feature, there should be a way to make your brush even harder, for when you're editing low quality photos and you want to keep those pixelated lines. But those are my only points!

I love this app and it's absolutely worth the couple of bucks that it costs in my opinion!

Superimpose X is cracked for a phone app

I have been using superimpose and superimpose X regularly for about 7 years now, and I would use this over adobe photoshop at least 85% of the time. As an artist, it is incredibly convenient to be able to make super-quick edits on my phone before posting or sharing my work. Its also great for cranking out that group-chat specific meme in two minutes, before the conversation shifts to something else. The magic wand tool is phenomenal, and there are more than enough options to cover all my photo-editing needs.

My only criticism is with the brush tools. For photo editing, like adding backgrounds, effects, or quick clean ups, this app is great. However, for digital painting, the brush tools are hot garbage. Using a stylus, the brushes feel wonky and hard to use compared to other programs like Krita or Photoshop. They are fine for circling stuff or adding notes to an image, but for actual painting, I wouldn’t recommend them. Changing the hardness/softness of a brush can be a little confusing, and there aren’t quite enough brush tip options for me. I think if the brushes got a rework, this app would be absolutely perfect for both drawing and editing.

Great, but needs a fix..

Ok, so I love this app. It’s my favorite and best one I’ve tried that are like it. Many ways to get a good cut out. But there is a problem. Shadows are very important when combining photos, and your shadow thing is far too simple and buggy. First of all, it doesn’t work right. You’ll have different shadows for different layers (obviously), but when you change the opacity or blur of one of the shadows, they can all change. Which ruins everything. And also, once you make a shadow, you can’t keep going back in to adjust it. Which isn’t good considering how important they can be. And sometimes when you take the blur or opacity all the way down to see the difference it makes, it like gets stuck. Then you have to trash the whole thing and start again. Notice I still gave the app 5 stars. Cause it definitely deserves it. Just PLEASE fix the shadow feature, and it’ll be an almost perfect app.

Edit: never was able to edit a review before, but they totally fixed the issue a while back. It’s such a great app for combining photos. The best there is, no question.
