Great at first, but...

UPDATED: I changed my review to 4 stars because while I didn’t see in the notes that the display audits would be temporary, I could have missed it. I was told that the other visits would be reoccurring, but that could have been a staff mistake. There is still very little communication, but I think that’s just how this kind of thing works. You have to be motivated, you have to be a self starter and really self reliant/confident. If you do the job, you will get paid. That’s one thing I do like about this company. They fairly pay you for all the time you take to do a job (and sometimes there are extra incentives to get it done faster).

I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue or what, but my assignments kept disappearing and then that whole category along with my previously assigned reoccurring promotional display audit visits disappeared. My messages don't get replies anymore, it's almost like they just want new people instead of steady, consistent, reliable people. Yes, I did start one assignment a little late in the day, but I had spent twice as long as originally indicated on 2 projects that day to make the deadline. I'm really bummed because it seemed like this was going really well, and this happens. Maybe it's just an error, but to just delete all the projects with no communication is strange and not a very nice way to treat someone.

Hi - Thanks for your review. The reason those assignments went away is because they were for a training project. There is a limit to how many you can do, and once you've proven yourself, they're no longer available. This was explained in the project details, and we have a large staff that answers everyone. Please feel free to contact me at projectteam@survey.com if you have other questions.

Good at first

I agree with the other review. They do pay you for the work you perform, but there is a serious lack of communication. It does seem like they pay a lot more attention to you when you’re new. But after a while it becomes more and more difficult to communicate with anybody.

Often times they’ll message you with a special offer asking you to to accept an assignment if you’re interested. But what they don’t tell you is that these special offers go out to everybody in your area so they’re not actually specially targeted offers for you. They like to get your hopes up with the idea that they are recognizing you for excellence, but you then learn you’re just another faceless drone.

Overall it can be good and they pay fairly well considering most jobs take less than 30-40 minutes. But keeping in touch when you need help especially while you are performing an assignment is something they need to seriously improve because you can be left not knowing what to do next in order to complete an assignment if there are issues on location. It’s confusing for you and for the client as well and can be very frustrating.

Hello,

Thanks for sharing, our goal is to empower our users with data and technology to offer targeted solutions to their specific retail challenges, we send out multiple offers to users in a specific area and whoever takes first gets assigned and this, sometimes, may not be as we would like to. but we always take in consideration a valuable feedback as yours, constructive feedback is valuable for us cause we know, every company has areas of opportunities and we thank you for your comments, it helps us to improve, our apologies for any inconvenience. Regards, Survey Merchandiser.

Great support!

I've worked with a lot of third party contract services and have had exceptional, average and terrible experiences. On one particular project I did (and am currently still doing) through Merchandiser, my rep, Randy, is the biggest reason I continue working with this company. You're not gonna get rich doing these projects but it's a great way to supplement your income. The problem is that a lot of these services that contract out offer little to no support and sometimes take forever to approve completed projects or will even not approve them with no explanation or response to your inquiries about it. More times than not, it's pretty frustrating. But Randy has restored my faith! I've done close to 70 assignments with him now and he is ALWAYS quick to respond to me and offers solutions and words of encouragement consistently. Every issue I've encountered he has provided me with immediate resolve. Truly, a supportive rep like this makes a person WANT to produce. And his professional and friendly demeanor is outstanding and makes everything seem just "better." Merchandiser - you most certainly have a gem here and no doubt, he is quite an asset to your company. I enjoy working with Randy and look forward to many more projects in the future.
