Survivors: the Quest 4+

I loved this game, I played it all the time. I got super far but hit a snag. There is this match three level in the tropical forest area. It’s the first puzzle in the place ingredients in a circle quest. I can’t skip it because it is essential to moving the story on. It’s impossible to beat, and not because it’s to hard. It’s way to easy. I know that doesn’t make sense, so I’m going to do my best to explain. In the game whenever you match more than three you get a power up, and whenever you finish with extra moves those moves translate into extra power ups. I finished the level with about 7 moves left. The problem is, because of the layout of the level, the power ups activate, and when they do, consistently new ones take their place. I can’t move on to the next level because there is no way for me to get past the power up activation phase. I’ve been waiting for over ten minutes and it shows no sign of stopping. I’ve restarted the level trying to do all sorts of things to prevent this from happening but nothing is working. What would be nice is if there is a button to push if you are waiting for a certain amount of time and want to skip that phase, or making the level a little more difficult so there aren’t as many power ups to activate. That would be much appreciated. I hope this makes sense, I did my best to explain it. I really love this game, so I hope the issues are fixed so I can continue playing. Thank you.

The game seems interesting and the tutorials are helpful. It would be nice to be able to access the tutorials again after they are first introduced in case of questions. Also, I’m a bit concerned about how fast I’m needing to use up the crystals, and how some of the matching puzzles are already so difficult. I have run out of crystals pretty quickly from having to use them to buy tools to finish the puzzles or using gems to figure out what to do for the tasks. Update: I am basically stuck because I can’t figure out what to do, and haven’t got enough crystals to get help. The game became boring when I collected all that I could for inventory, but then couldn’t figure out how to proceed with the only tasks I had available despite clicking on every spot I could figure out without help since I have only 2 crystals left. Also, the art is good, but hard to see all details on a phone-sized screen. I tried multiple times to find the guitar strings in the locker, but despite clicking on everything I could see in the locker, I couldn’t get them. I had to resort to asking my daughter to look, and she found them as a tiny white dot on top of a white pile. My eyes couldn’t discern the difference. Slow going now, so I’m not sure I’ll continue playing. It’s really only fun if you buy crystals.

Like many other reviewers I found the Match 3 mini-game extremely tedious, but since changing the mini-game from a time limit to a limited set of moves to solve the puzzles the game overall for me has been far more enjoyable. But I do have one issue with the game, limited play. By that I mean you can only play through the game once. Once you get through all the currently available levels there is no way to reset the game and start over from the very beginning. Basically the game comes to a dead end until the developers release another location, until then you cant replay the game. I have tried deleting the app and reloading it, but my game data is saved on the developer’s server and linked to my device. This annoys me because I had not setup an user account that the game says is important for them to save user data and prevent loss of game progress, but it does that whether or not you create an account. It also means that new players cant play if they are on a device a previous player had used. For me, who loves to replay games that I had previously enjoyed, this is a major drawback of the game. Please, developers, give players the ability to restart/reset the game back to the beginning. Update: Year later and developers still haven’t made a way for players to restart game. Can’t even reset by deleting game and reloading. Very disappointing. For that I’m removing a star from my review.
