Learning Japanese is fun, but studying its writing system can be overwhelming. Swaipu is here to help!
• Stay in the Flow
Swaipu's studying method is very simple. Guess a flash card, touch it to reveal the solution, swipe it off to the right if you guessed right, to the left if you guessed wrong.
Swaipu contains 20 decks of kanji flash cards. All kanji in current use are included.
You can get your feet wet with the beginner decks - they contain basic and very useful kanji, but most importantly, they're small and not intimidating at all :) You'll master them in no time.
There are decks for all the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) exams, N1 through N5. You can also study by school grade, or if you're up for a challenge, even study all of the standard Jōyō kanji at once.
Sometimes meanings and readings aren't enough - you might want to look up radicals, example sentences, and more. That's why Swaipu integrates with "Nihongo: a modern Japanese dictionary", a fantastic Japanese dictionary app. One tap on the magnifying glass, and you'll get all the information you can ask for.
Swaipu also comes with 12 decks for Hiragana and Katakana. All kana in current use are included.
Not sure how to pronounce a kana? No problem, just tap the speaker button and Swaipu will speak it for you.
I'd love to know what you think of Swaipu! You can reach me using the Send Feedback button in the app, or on Twitter @mipstian.
This app was built with love and patience. I hope you'll enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed designing and building it.
Have fun, and good luck with your studies!

Quick and Easy Flashcards
This is perfect for people who study on their own and need that peaceful solitude to help them concentrate. Although I was a tiny bit disappointed when I saw that to be able to study Kana with diacritics and digraphs I had to pay but this is a really simple and handy app. The “decks” given to you are all the basic Hiragana and Katakana; which is more than enough for me (a Japanese Language student).
Works as intended, and it’s a bit cute! Needs more recognition!
Swaipu works great and has helped me, along with my writing practice book, learn Kanji and memorize Kana. There is a bit of humor in the tutorials, which I find to be a nice touch. It’s intuitive and easy to pick up and just start. I’ll definitely tell my friends that are also studying Japanese to try this out!
Needs more recognition
I’ve been searching for a while for something to learn kanji easily and fast as well as brush up on my hiragana and katakana, this app literally has everything and it’s probably one of the few apps I felt deserved a review, overall I like it a lot
