Great all-in-one fitness community and platform!

Love this app - it really fills in the gaps left by other platforms (ie: Meetup, Facebook, WhatsApp) traditionally used to build community/events/social engagement in the fitness world. The best part about it is the group chat feature which allows event attendees to participate in a shared conversation long after an event has ended without compromising user privacy. I’ve met many new people after attending SweatPals events and it’s been an invaluable resource for folks who are new to a city and trying to make new friends!

Hooray! We're so happy that SweatPals is filling a gap in the fitness world's social scene! We're tickled pink to hear that our group chat feature is a hit, especially because it keeps event attendees connected after the event. It's like a virtual after-party! And we're glad to hear that our app is helping folks make new friends, because, let's face it, making friends as an adult is harder than finding a needle in a haystack. Thanks for taking the time to write your review!

Great concept, room for improvement

I think this app has a lot of potential and I love the concept. I’ve found really fun events to join, and the app performance has definitely gotten better. Some areas of improvement that would make it a lot better:
1) the Pals feature has never worked. Every time I try it it tells me there are no pals and to come back at a later time no matter the time of day I check it
2) uploading photos to your profile is really glitchy. There’s no option to remove photos, you can only select existing ones and try to replace them, and when you go back to the edit profile page old photos still show up randomly.
3) there’s no filter for location on the events page. This one feels like a no brainer since I only want to find events where I live.
4) there’s no way to tell the app you made it to an event unless you upload a photo.

Meetup for Fitness, Sports, Outdoors

Like this title says it’s like meetup but for specifically fitness related activities. Great way to meet people interested in similar things as you and get into new activities you haven’t tried before.

The one reason I’m not giving it a 5 is the events on here are no where nearly as large as the app implies. There’s a functionality on here that allows the user to select “Going to this event and all other in series.” This is nice in theory but in practice people hit this button then completely forget about the event.

The result is you may see 40 people signed up for an event and only 5-10 go. It would be nice if they got rid of the going to “all event series” button and just sent a reminder notification or something about the events. It’s frustrating expecting 20 people and only 3 show up.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the review, we're glad you're enjoying SweatPals and meeting like-minded fitness enthusiasts! We totally understand your frustration with events not being as large as they appear on the app. We have taken your feedback about the "going to all event series" button into consideration and in the next update, users will have to RSVP to each event individually!

Thanks again for taking the time to leave us a review and for your great suggestion!
